“Murfreesboro gem!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

We've been several times, and the food is very, very good. The portions are slightly larger than most restaurants of this type, and quality only increases the value! The special seasonal drink menu offers tasty concoctions. The Fall Sangria is excellent. Our favorite entree is the filet, which is one of the best filets I've tasted in years, far exceeding Morton's, Fleming's, and the like. The Venison is fantastic, as well. The salads are great, but the desserts have been somewhat of a disappointment. The best part is ingredients are sourced locally, if possible, and the freshness is quite evident. The service has been both great and lackluster, depending on the server, but is not enough of an issue to keep us from coming back. Murfreesboro should support and treasure this unique gem. We're thrilled to have such a fantastic dining option and will return as soon as possible!

“Not my kind of place, over-hyped, under delivered.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

This is very expensive restaurant, but I have no idea why. They have bare concrete floors, hard wooden library style chairs, no table cloths, and a bare bones atmosphere. It's like eating in a warehouse. The food tasted good, but it was obvious that the presentation was more important than the quality or quantity of food. It was all about how it looked on the plate. The service was okay, but nothing outstanding. Paying more than $55 for two people, (no alcohol) I would have expected fine dining, but it never seemed like that. A very "bare bones" experience, small servings, at a special occasion price. We will not be back.

“Yummy fish and locally-sourced veggies”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012 via mobile

Five Senses offers a seasonal menu, so what you read here might not be available on the menu when you go. Had a Thai seafood soup special with a coconut milk base; there was a lot of meat and a mild amount of spice. Had a good sized piece of grouper for the entree that was served on a bed of whole barley grains that provided a nice variety in textures. A nice pear tart finished the meal. Presentations of the dishes showed that the chefs paid attention to the details - many of the dishes brought to the table got "wow!" responses.

“Perfection!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

At first we were a little hesitant to go in since the restaurant was buried way in the back of a strip mall but I'm sure glad we stopped. From the minute we sat down until the time we left, everything was pure perfection. We started with the Bruschetta x 2, our entrees were the Grilled Flank Steak Au Poivre and Spicy Wild American Shrimp Pasta, and for dessert the Chocolate Espresso Ganache Tart. Locals don't know how good they have it to have this restaurant in their backyard. Food of this caliber belongs in a high end district like Lincoln Park & the Gold Coast in Chicago, not a strip mall.

“Terrible Service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2012

My and wife I decided to check out Fives Senses on a whim Saturday night. After being sat by the hostess we proceeded to wait for a server. Numerous servers passed by but no one greeted us or even offered to take our drink order. We literally waited 10 minutes before deciding to leave. Everything on the menu is around $30 an entree. If you are going to pay that kind of money I think it's reasonable to get decent service.
