The good: was less than $50 including tax for a non-weekday night single. Had a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker & supplies, cable TV w/ about 90 channels. Area seemed relatively safe. Shoney's next door was decent and the Parthenon restaurant on the other side was pretty busy so must be OK. At a busy exit off the interstate so plenty of gas / food / mini-mart etc options.
The bad: sofa seemed to have a blood stain and a couple small round holes - did someone get shot in my room (see photo)? Shower was a bit dingy. Side table and dresser drawers had holes in the bottom and a fair amount of debris inside. No easily accessible plugs for computer / phone charging etc. "Free WiFi" but could not get it to work (after an hour of trying, and I'm a semi-pro at figuring out how to get onto hotel networks). Towels and washcloths were either stained, or a dark grey color (seemed clean, but stained). Bed was very hard.
The ugly: inside of air conditioning / heater unit had mold and some sort of animal droppings (see photo). It was incredibly gross.
The take-away: cheap place to stay outside of Nashville, if you're only over-nighting and plan to keep your socks on. It was surface-clean (sink, counter, mirror, tub and linens) but it appeared that nothing else had been cleaned in weeks or months.
