This is one of the reaons we decided to move to Murfreesboro. The Greenway is wide enough for runners, bikers, and families with kids. It has lots of interesting points along the path: bark park, many playgrounds, Civil War information, and Civil War monuments. It should appeal to many different groups of people.
I have never felt unsafe on the Greenway. The City and County keep it very clean.
Being next to the Stones River, you can see all kinds of wildlife: duck, deer, muscrat.
It's a very cool place.
