“Another Max's Restaurant gems”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2015 NEW

This is the second time we have been there. Its always consistent and the staff is great! The Prime Rib is delicious, anything from the raw bar is fresh. We have never had a bad visit.
The atmosphere is warm and comfortable. Dress is casual neat to formal. I have seen kids there, there is plenty for them to choose from also. Its adjacent to the Basketball Hall of Fame for its a good trip to combine.

“Dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2015

Traveling from Boston to Syracuse. Stopped at Max's. Not too far off our route. Excellent food and service. Our server, Emily, was awesome. Will definitely stop again.

“Good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2015

I was in Springfield for a professional meeting and went to Max's Tavern for dinner. It definitely is one of the best places to dine in the Springfield area. I had steak, others in my party had fish; everyone enjoyed their dinner. Service was quite slow, so be prepared to wait.

“I can't wait to go back, awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2015 via mobile

we stopped in for a late dinner on a Thursday night. While it was busy we were able to get a table near the bar. The service was outstanding. We had an incredible raw bar platter and tuna tacos. Delicious! Our waitress Andrea was super friendly and attentive. A very minor issue with part of our order prompted an immediate visit by the manager who easily corrected the mistake. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, and it was a great value. Max' Tavern has great ambiance and is well worth many visits. We'll be back

“Good place to stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2015 via mobile

Four of us stopped there for dinner around 1830 on a Saturday evening. Our reservations were honored immediately. The place was crowded. The wait staff was overall good, though our waiter neglected to bring a requested item until reminded. He also brought the wrong bill to our table. Nothing major. I shared a Caesar salad which was mediocre. The lobster combination was outstanding as was the plank steak. The salmon was excellent while the Max penne was nothing special. We had no dessert. One minor problem was our table was not balance and wobbled until the server used the right combination of table coasters. Overall, the food and atmosphere were good or better (except the salad).
