“Great experience and opportunity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2014

This was a fantastic experience to see different underwater life. Tons of beautiful starfish, crabs, jellyfish, corals, and kelp. The water was crystal clear. The dive suits felt strange but were totally bouyant and toasty warm. The crew was amazing!!! They were knowledgeable, qualified, and passionate. Must not forget they had a fantastic sense of humour and kept us laughing! One thing that was important to me was the respect they had for the environment and it's inhabitants. On both the trip out to the dive site and back they told us all sorts of interesting facts about Sitka and pointed out many highlights. Totally gets a 2 thumbs up :)

“Bird Watching was a real treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

I signed up for their Bird Watching excursion from our cruise ship. Come to find out, I was the only one on the ship that signed up. I was so happy they didn't cancel, as it was a beautiful walk. Added several birds to my life list and learned a lot about the flora and fauna. Laura was an excellent guide and was easy to talk with.

“Had fun!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

We chose to do their bike and hike adventure. I was a little nervous traveling on the roads and had hoped for a little more out of the way biking, but like the guide said, people are very bike friendly in Sitka, so there was no real concern. I would liked to have a little more out of the way and in the back country to make this experience better, but when I don't know the terrain or where to go, we had to trust that this was the best way to go.

“Sitka Bike and Hike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

We did the Sitka Bike and Hike trip in May 2012. A very informative and picturesque ride and hike from Sawmill Cove to Thimbleberry Lake in the Tongass National Forest. Caleb was a walking almanac of facts and figures about the Alaskan rain forest. Neither the bike ride nor the hike were strenuous and we enjoyed this trip. A good excursion for families with kids/teens.

“An Education!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012

We took the Tongass Rain Forest Hike from a cruise stop in Sitka last week. Our guide's name was Katherine. We wished we could have found out more about what brought her to Alaska, what she did when she wasn't guiding, etc. but she gave us so much information about our surroundings that we didn't really have a chance to ask. The hike was not so strenuous, though lots of rather big stairs that were a little challenge for my short legs, but the terrain had enough variety that there was plenty of time to recover. We had learned a little bit about the rain forest the day before in Juneau, but Katherine really filled in the gaps. She encouraged us to taste various edible berries, and really pointed out the topographical history of the rain forest. She had a contagious love for nature, and was an incredible teacher. She was assisted by Marisa, apparently a relative of one of the owners, and a sweet young woman who should be nick-named the "Vanna White" of forest slugs! She actually made one look adorable.
