Tom and Anita's have put a lot of work into making their home a true romantic getaway. My wife and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary in Luray and the Cottage was perfect. The breakfast was superb not only with regards to the food but also the experience; Tom took the time to explain the historical and cultural nuances of dining around the time to house was built. We also enjoyed the proximity to a number of great hikes and outdoor adventures! I can see why they have a lot of repeat customers and since it is nearby the metro D.C. area it makes a nice low-petroleum vacation.

For our second anniversary, my husband and I wanted to go to Luray, VA to sightsee and enjoy Luray's many attractions. Several months before our anniversary, my husband researched B&Bs around Luray and found the South Court Inn. We decided to stay at the South Court Inn because it got great reviews and the bedrooms we saw on their website were beautiful. From May 31st to June 2nd we stayed there and had a fantastic time.

We stayed in the Emma Glenn room. The feather mattress is so comfortable, the bedroom is decorated beautifully, and the tub is so large that my husband and I were able to lie comfortably inside it together. I was a little hesitant about staying in a room that didn't have a shower, but bathing with my husband in the morning was very fun :)

Tom and Anita Potts were great hosts. We arrived early to the B&B, and they were kind enough to tell us about the history of the home and show us the other rooms in the B&B. They were great at helping us find places we needed to go, and they happily shared their thoughts and experiences in Luray with us. It is obvious that they love to entertain.

Breakfast was delicious. Sunday was strawberries and yogurt, mushroom/egg/cheese soufflé, bacon, and toast with a caramel apple dessert. Monday, breakfast was mixed fruit with yogurt, sausage, and a sweet croissant filed with banana topped with powdered sugar. Everything tasted great, and the portions were just right.

South Court B&B is very close to many attractions, so my husband and I never had to drive far (which is great given the high price of gas). If you are planning a trip to Luray, I would highly recommend the South Court Inn B&B.

I spent two and a half years DREADING over planning our wedding. I was online one day and I came across South Court Inn's website. I couldn't belive I actually found a place that does it all!! To think I didn't have to worry about a thing, was just unreal to me. South Court has packages that suite your needs and of course I wanted it all!! All we had to do was show up. We stayed in the cottage which was absolutely adorable. Tom and Anita went above and beyond to make our wedding a day to remember. My flowers were beautiful and still perfect almost a week later. Tom's cooking was delicious, I wish I could have stuffed him in my suitcase and took him home to cook for me everyday! I loved listening to Anitas stories about Victorian times and all the history of the town. I can't wait to go back!

“Eloped at South Court”

Pennsylvania

We found South Court Inn through a “Google.com” search for “Eloping in Virginia”. We looked at different B&B ‘s and found that South Court offered just what we wanted for our wedding day, simple and elegant. We had emailed several B&B’s and most never returned our emails, but Tom responded almost immediately. He went into detail about what was offered in their “elopement package”. I then called to talk personally with Tom and knew as soon as I was speaking with him that this was going to be the perfect location for our wedding day. After making reservations, Tom promptly emailed us our confirmation, along with all the details we needed to know about getting married in Virginia (we are from Pennsylvania). He also sent us some suggestions on things to do and places to eat in Luray. The most helpful were the driving directions. We started out using MapQuest and got all messed up…so we back tracked and followed Tom’s directions and found South Court without any problems. Once we arrived we were greeted at the door by Tom and checked in, at this time Tom told us the history of South Court and shown around the property. Tom officiated our wedding ceremony and his wife Anita videotaped and took pictures. The ceremony was beautiful, taking place in the Victorian decorated living room in front of the fireplace. After the ceremony, Tom took us around and took pictures. The breakfasts were phenomenal, served in Victorian elegance. Our stay was so relaxing, just what we wanted for the special time in our lives. The Potts were attentive to all our needs; all we needed to do was ask. We would recommend South Court to anyone looking to get away and the elopement package was a welcome relief to the hassles and costs of a traditional wedding.

Visiting South Court Inn was truly a wonderful experience for us. While we did our research before choosing the bed and breakfast, we were truly unprepared for all the nice, thoughtful touches the Potts family put into our stay. Upon arriving for our anniversary getaway, we found the Susie Hodges Cottage was comfortable and immaculately kept. Although we learned the innkeepers, Tom and Anita, had a tough week with Anita’s hospitalization the day before our arrival, not one detail was spared. A plate of fresh fruit was set up for us on the table, along with two bottles of water, several large white fluffy towels and bathrobes were set out for us, with extras by the whirlpool tub, and they offered individual shampoos, soaps and lotions for our use. A quick, but thorough, tour of the home by Tom was greatly appreciated as he showed us how to use everything, including the fireplace. The cottage had a washer and dryer, refrigerator, silverware and even two wine glasses and a corkscrew. Our three-day stay was well worth it as we were able to relax and still interact with the rest of the inn’s guests at the delicious breakfast served each morning. The coffee delivered to our cottage each morning was a nice treat. Tom gave wonderful recommendations for restaurants - the Artisan Grill in Luray and Jalisco Mexican Restaurant in New Market - both had delicious food. We loved Shenandoah National Park as well - it was gorgeous. The rooms in the house and the cottage were beautiful, as were the grounds, and we really enjoyed our time there. We will recommend South Court to all our friends and family!
