“Pretty good, one of few choices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

Considering there aren't many choices to eat in the area, you can't be too picky in terms of the food here. The nice thing is that it's actually pretty good food. It can be a little expensive, but we got a package with our room that included free dinner with a salad, entree and dessert for 2 people. The only complaint I've got is that the dessert really wasn't too great. Could have been warmer, tasted like it had been sitting around and reheated a time or two, and the taste really just wasn't too amazing either way. Otherwise, the salad and entree (we got the vegetarian options) were pretty good and the server was very friendly. The view from our table overlooking the valley was very pretty, too.

One of my meals was the Prime Rib which was cooked to perfection. My wife always enjoys the Wild Mushroom Tar.

“Expensive, but convenient and tasty”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

There really aren't a lot of options for dining within the National Park. The adults enjoyed trout and vegetable ratatouille. The kids had a hamburger, turkey and mashed potatoes, and lettuce, turkey, and cheese wrap. We ended our meal with the Lodge's signature blackberry ice cream which was a fun, delicious treat. Our meal with tip for two adults, three children, and ice cream all around was $77. Service was slow, so plan to relax and enjoy the wonderful view.

The location was excellent. We had great service. Will return to this resort in the future. The room could use some new updates.

“Nice Hotel in a park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

I enjoy it very much!!! It is an excellent choice to stay in teh Shenandoah park, and enjoy the many hiking, views and the Appalachian trail. Ask for the blueridge rooms, a little more expensive, bu the view and the balcon wrth it !!
