“A Wonderful B&B in Luray”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

My wife and I had never visited the Luray Caverns, so we decided to spend my wife's birthday over a 2 day stay at the Inn. It was so delightful and it was due to our wonderful host, Ann. From the time we arrived, we were treated with such hospitality and care, that we knew this was going to be a memorable stay. The room was quite comfortable to include your own fireplace.
Breakfast was nothing short of excellent to include one morning with waffles and peaches.
Lodging at the Inn of the Shenandoah is a must if you are visiting Luray.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great which can be viewed on the website.

We wish we had had more time to spend at this b&b. Miss Ann is one of the most delightful persons I have met in the B&B industry. We had a wonderfully comfortable cozy room. I had left a bag behind at a previous location, making it necessary to get up quite early the next morning to backtrack. Ann was gracious enough to prepare and marvelous early breakfast, which I needed for a long rain-filled trek. I hope to return for a longer stay. Any traveler to the Luray area who fails to stay here is making a mistake.

We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Inn and I have to say we have a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Anne is a very charming and friendly Inn Keeper and is always ready to accommodate requests and so is her wonderful helper Gloria. Our suite was cleaned daily and I like the fact that we had fresh towels daily that the room smelt lovely as we walked in. We also had a complimentary bottle of wine which was a nice touch. The Breakfasts were delicious. The Artisanal grill down the street is a pretty good restaurant and we dined there twice, also at Rancho if you like Mexican food. The Shenandoah valley park is just breathtakingly beautiful especially during this time of the year and we had a picturesque hike up the Stony man trail. The Luray caverns are also a must see.

My husband and I went on a mid-week getaway for his birthday and wanted a low-key, relaxing experience. we got just that from The Inn of the Shenandoah. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Ann, the Innkeeper and her staff. We stayed in the Willow Suite that was beautifully decorated and well-maintained. Breakfast both days was out of this world! Jalapeño and cheese biscuits, spinach and mushroom omlettes and fresh fruit on day one and 'secret-ingredient' peach waffles and sausage on day two. Ann and Gloria definitely take pride in their work and truly care about the needs of their guests. We had the pleasure of relaxing in the beautifully decorated living room with Ann and Gloria one evening, sharing stories and learning the history of the quaint town of Luray.
We are already brainstorming our next trip to The Inn.
We can't recommend this B&B enough!
*important to note that reviews prior to Spring 2014 are from when the previous owners were running the Inn. Ann has totally renovated the building and the service, so disregard those outdated, negative reviews*

Room Tip: All of the rooms are gorgeous!

We booked our stay online in Luray because it seemed to be a good ending place for our drive up the BR Parkway then Skyline drive coming from Roanoke. We were pleasantly greeted by the innkeeper, Anne, and shown to our room with a complementary bottle of wine. We enjoyed sitting and reading on our porch until time for dinner and Anne made several good recommendations. Following a comfortable and restful evening, we were treated to a gourmet breakfast. The staff is very friendly and generous and the building is breathtakingly beautiful, especially the stained and beveled-glassed windows. We look to return!

My husband and I went to Luray,VA without making hotel accommodations but just knew that we would find the perfect place to stay...and WE DID! Not wanting to spend our mini-honeymoon at a hotel/motel, we kept driving after the cavern tour until we came upon what we thought was the perfect place! When Ann met us so warmly at the door and advised that the only room left at the Inn was their largest, a bit more expensive and was called the "Honeymoon Suite", we knew that we had found the perfect place, site unseen...AND IT WAS! The Inn was charming! The Orchid Room (Honeymoon Suite) was clean, tastefully decorated and romantic! Ann, her staff and other guests were friendly and welcoming! It was the perfect stay! We have recommended it to friends, family and co-workers! Thank you Inn on the Shenandoah, Ann and all who support this B&B! BTW: breakfast was delicious! ........The Lees!

As soon as we drove up to this delightful historic house, we knew we were in for a treat! Ann, the innkeeper, greeted us with a cheerful smile and complimentary bottle of chilled wine, which we enjoyed on our private porch. Our cozy and charming suite included a small sitting room and a large bathroom complete with a Jacuzzi. The bed was one of the most comfortable we'd ever slept in. In the morning, Ann prepared a gourmet breakfast, beautifully presented: fresh fruit platter, warm homemade biscuits, spinach and cheese omelet, sausage, juice, and coffee. It was absolutely delicious! The inn is located in a colorful artsy area of Luray, a short walk from a pretty little park with a brook running through it. It is also very close to the famous Luray Caverns. The Inn of Shenandoah couldn't be more perfect, and we highly recommend it!
