“Cozy and Comfortable”

We celebrated our Anniversary at the Inn of the Shenandoah and found a Gem. Our stay could not have been better. We stayed in The Willow Suite and loved the coziness of the Suite, and thoroughly enjoyed the Jacuzzi . The private entrance to our room from the back of the Inn was an added amenity.
Ann was waiting for our arrival and was a superb Hostess, plus the secret ingredient waffles were a tasty treat for our breakfast. I would definitely stay there again, and would recommend it to anyone wanting a nice getaway in the Luray area.

My sister and I stayed at the Inn during a visit to the Luray Caverns in August. The Inn is beautiful, clean, lovely decor, and excellent service. (Very Victorian) We had wine, snacks, and drinks in our room upon arrival. We had the Orchid Room which is located at the top of the staircase in the picture that accompanies this review. The Inn is located very near the Caverns. Ann, our Inn Keeper, was awesome! She upgraded our room and was such a warm and friendly lady. The breakfast of homemade waffles topped with peaches was delicious. It was accompanied by a fresh and fabulous plate of fruit. Ann recommended local interests and even took us to one of them on our departure. I highly recommend the B&B. We had a fantastic stay.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the Orchid Room.

If your plans include traveling to Luray, VA or even within 50 miles of there, be sure you don’t miss experiencing an evening or two at this hidden gem. The Inn of the Shenandoah is just beautiful inside and out. The rooms are inviting, spacious, immaculately clean, and tastefully decorated in a style equally as attractive as the outside. (I stayed in the Orchid Suite, but the other two are also warmly inviting.)

You may not want to leave your private haven, but don’t deny yourself the treat of the gracious hospitality of Ann who instantly makes you feel at home, welcome, relaxed and free to call on her with questions, requests, or just a ‘sit a spell and talk’ time in the two large living rooms.
She also prepares the most delicious breakfast, and if she thinks you are really special, she will grace you with her delicious peach waffles. Sorry, I’ve already asked to have her to will the recipe to me as it is currently a carefully guarded secret. I also met Daryl at breakfast, and he is equally friendly, accommodating, and appears to love working with and for the guests at the Inn.

The newly renovated Inn of the Shenandoah is a unique place to spend your vacation. My wife and I spent our 43rd Wedding Anniversary in one of the most luxurious rooms. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Miss Ann. She gave us a short tour of the Inn, showed us our room and let us get settled. Since we spent the day in Luray, we just wanted to unwind. Well we did!! She suggested a couple of fine restaurants in town to choose from and we took to short walk to a real family style place called the Gathering Ground, had dinner and then returned to the Inn. We sat on the front porch and just enjoyed the view. As we started to head back to our room, we decided to sit in the parlor where we found Miss Ann "unwinding" from her hectic day. The three of us just sat and talked about everything under the sun.
The next morning our breakfast was out of this world, Homemade waffles from scratchhand crafted by Ann, fruit , unlimited coffee, and the best orange juice.
Make this the place for your next "home away from home" vacation.
If you are looking for a relaxing environment, The Inn of the Shenandoah is the place.

Room Tip: Every room has a jacuzzi, so what to choose.

My husband and I recently stayed here while we were in town for a wedding. Being 20 weeks pregnant we wanted something more comfortable and relaxing than a Best Western. The owner, Ann, was incredibly nice and made sure we had anything we needed. She is very accommodating of dietary restrictions or anything else you may need. We stayed in the Willow room and it was really perfect for us- I definitely made use of the jacuzzi tub after the long, tiring day at the wedding. The only thing we felt was lacking was a strong wi-fi signal which would have been helpful so we could have connected our iPad to look up restaurants and attractions to visit.

My husband and I spent our first year anniversary at The Inn of the Shenandoah. It is only a few miles away from Luray Caverns (which I also recommend, by the way). We got the Orchid Suite, the largest room in the inn, which has a king-sized bed and a jacuzzi. Ann has been such a gracious host. Daryl, her assistant, has been very helpful as well. We got a complimentary bottle of wine which we paired with some homemade cheese we bought at a cafe a few blocks down the road. The breakfast was delicious and we even got to take some of Ann's famous corn muffins home. We really enjoyed our stay.

My husband & I stayed in the cottage behind the main building for the weekend. It was comfortable, quiet and private. Ann & her assistant, Daryl, were the most wonderful hosts! So gracious, attentive, friendly and entertaining. Wine & snacks in our rooms AND delicious breakfasts. Beautiful inn, refurbished & redecorated. Perfect location! All these and a small town atmosphere with Main Street shops, restaurants, library and more just a stroll away. Getting away from a hectic lifestyle to the simple days of yester-year. Hard to leave it all. Thank you, Ann! We'll be back!
