“Perfect location for Sequoia”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

The location was ideal - just 5 or 6 miles from the entrance to Sequoia National Park. The hotel is in a quiet village, with the mountains in the background. The staff were helpful. Rooms were dated but great value for money considering how cheap it was. It was clean and spacious and fine for one night to visit Sequoia. There weren't many places to eat - but go to the restaurant right near the National Park entrance on the right hand side (can't remember the name) but it's located right by the river and the food was good.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near the views of the mountains

Saw mixed reviews about this place, but after staying for two nights we had a great time. Hotel is an excellent value for what you get. Close to Sequoia National Park (1hr to the Sherman Tree on a beautiful mountain drive). Breakfast included 7-9am with waffles (tip: come early before it gets busy). Nice restaurants (check out the cider mill), supermarket and gas station nearby. Beautiful river hike just behind the hotel, just climb past the rocks. Pet friendly rooms available ($15 extra per night). Took our dog off leash on a great hike along the river. Has an outdoor deep swimming pool and a small hot tub that gets very hot (not the luke-warm temp that most hotels have). Beds were clean and rooms are big. Rooms come with coffee maker, fridge, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. Wifi worked well for us. Would recommend this place and come back to stay again.

Location of the place is wonderful on the edge of the national parc and it has a nice ambiance of hiker's lodging.

However, it doesn't make up for the lack of hygiene nor the less than impressive breakfast.

Charging 10$ for bug spray in the office, when the room was filled with bugs when we arrived is just cheap.

I suppose, for the price, it is average, but I bet the area in general could do better.

The front desk staff did the best with what they had. They had no information or recommendation on nearby attractions like local maps. Nickle and dime you on printing boarding etc. Internet connection was slow, TV was old and the picture was pink. Breakfast was not work spending time, it was average at the best.

Housekeeping did the best with what they had too. You had to ask for extra soap, there was no bath soap, just 1 hand soap so you had to plan who got the soap if you had two people in the room. The carpet was old and the room was a bit smelly.

The lighting on the stairs was on a timer so if you needed to leave early, you had to go up and down the staris in pitch dark.

Room Tip: Do not expect much from this hotel other than a good place to crash for the night

We stayed here Saturday night then checked out the following morning. I love that they incorporate family setting into their lodge. They got basketball court, playground, and swimming pool. It has a mountain view. They have patio on every room where you can see stars at night. The rooms are bigger than Vegas hotel rooms. There kitchen in every room. Free breakfast for guest. This place is an hour away from sequioa. They are also close to general store, food place, gas station. There is also a lake and recreation area nearby. Decent price for the type of lodge they got that you can't complain.

This town is just lovely, inmidst the beautiful countryside and the mountains its a real retreat. The hotel was our base to explore the Sequoia-Nationalpark und Kings-Canyon-Nationalpark. The hotel itself is a typical modern motel, the rooms are big each with a small patio with deck chairs. They also have a pool and a whirlpool, which we never tried out given the chilly temperatures in March. There is air conditioning, TV, Wifi and even an ironing board in the room.A free and delicious breakfast rounds up the good experience. Unfortunatly the breakfast room is a bit too small, it fills up so quickly. The plastic tableware is not to my taste, but thats quite common to experience throughout this section of motels and hotels. We slept realy good and deep, and enjoyed our stay tremendously at the Western holiday Lodge in Three Rivers!

I really liked this peaceful place. We stayed here for a night with our little dog. The lodge is situated in a beautiful meadow with an abutment to the river. Our room was larger than most motel rooms, with a microwave, fridge and coffee-maker. We had stayed the previous nights in motels that were grubby and noisy -- but not this one. The Western Lodge is QUIET! There is plenty of open space for dog-walking, as well as a cute play area with swings for the little ones. The two queen beds were comfy and cozy. All in all, it was a great place to stay and reasonably priced. I would definitely come back here if we make another trip to Sequoia NP.

Room Tip: We had our little dog and stayed in Room #34. It was a large room and close to the grassy area. Ver...
