“A really nice hotel....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

This is a very nice, clean hotel with a very helpful staff. It was also quite reasonable considering that it is just outside of a National Park. And the continental breakfast was above average with eggs and sausage. The staff was great...one night we bought a pizza which turned out to be way too big, and they kept the left-overs for us in their refrigerator. About the only negative I have is their computer in the lobby, which was very slow and unreliable.

Still, I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sequoia NP.

A solid hotel choice for travelers who are in-and-out, but want to splash in the pool a bit after a day of hiking/driving through the park. The breakfast is the usual, cereal and eggs in styrofoam plates and bowls, basic rooms that are clean (and here, large). The park shuttle stops here which is very convenient and better than doing all the driving yourself. Front desk staff had trouble handling all the check-ins at once, choosing to answer the phone and ignore the actual people standing in front of them, but they were nice enough once they got around to checking us in.

Room Tip: Stay here and use the park shuttle. Two restaurants a short walk up the road are decent. Enjoy the p...

We enjoyed our stay in the area but the hotel rooms are extremely dated or at least ours was. The motel is a nice place to stay in three rivers and I do not want to complain just state that I wouls have never have attempted to eat breakfast had i known it was going to be the worst bfast I have attempted to eat in quite some time. What we had was 200 people in a 20x20 area all trying to get the same things. What a cluster joke. Stupid and a waste of time. Do not try to eat breakfast here unless you enjoy being trampled on and bumped into incessantly.

Dear Guest,

I apologize for the upleasantrees that you experienced here at our property. I agree the breakfast area can get a bit crowed at times but 20x20 is the size of the meeting room we open up on days of high occupancy. The breakfast area including the lobby that also has seating is 60x20. We serve breakfast for 3 hrs that allows our guests to perhaps come back at a less busy time. I hope that you where able to find something that you enjoyed between the blueberry or orignial waffles, eggs, sausage, muffins, donuts, breads, fruit, cereals, oatmeals, etc. I hope that the remainder of your travels met your expectations and needs,

Best Regards,

I agree with previous reviews regarding the breakfast area. It was wholly inadequate for the number of people using it - it really was a bun fight for space and food! The choice at breakfast was really limited. Whilst the pool was of a good size, the tiles around the water level were in desperate need of a clean and made the place look grubby. The room was fine however, so I suppose it's what you want to focus on which will depend if you choose this hotel. The price was quite high, but if you are thinking of visiting the Sequoia National Park it is placed well.

One our westward trek of 2013, my lady & I had nowhere to stay but knew we wanted to spend time in Sequoia. Fortunately we got one of the few remaining rooms in this hotel. Desk staff were very friendly, even if a little confused by the fact my lady & I have different last names. It took a while but we got settled in finally. Can't remember rate but it was reasonable given the location. Room was large, clean. Good shower. Staff had good restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was very chaotic - but then the hotel was full so to be expected. Food as expected in a Comfort Inn - not gourmet but fresh and filling. One complaint - no yogurt...luxury problem I know.

Great location for access to Sequoia park - we were able to spend full days hiking the park and then only drive a short distance back to the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

We've stayed at Comfort Inn's before. This one takes full advantage of it's proximity to Sequoia Park - they know they can fill the rooms, so they don't worry about investing in replacing the beds. Both beds in our room were well past due. We folded the comforters and put them between the mattress and the box spring to take some of the dip out.

Good location across the street from the town grocery store and mexican restaurant. Staff was nice and always willing to help. The pool was a great gathering place and much welcomed on a very hot day. The property would use some updating.
