My husband and i stayed at this location during a visit to the Sequoia National Park. It is the most responsibly priced location in the area. There are few luxury options in the area, within the park there are one or options but they have a high price point. It visiting the Park you are basically looking for somewhere that is claen and close most of your tie will be spent in park.
During our stay there was a leak in the pipes that left the rug soaking it happened in the middle of the night so I didn't address till the next day. I was reimbursed for the that night s stay without question

We stayed two nights in June while hiking nearby. Rooms and grounds were clean. Staff was very gracious and morning breakfast of waffles, coffee and juice just the thing to start a long day...Would stay there again.

We stayed here during our tours of the National Parks. It is near Kings Canyon and Sequoia and the surrounding area including the reservoir is beautiful. We drove there from Kings Canyon on a road through the mountains past beautiful ranches and farms. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good. During breakfast we got to share our experiences with other travelers and got ideas for new places to go.

We stayed here whilst we travelled around the national parks on our honeymoon. We arrived about 2pm at the hotel and even though we knew check in was at 3pm we thought we would see if we could check in earlier. We were told by a nice lady at the check in that our room wasn't ready yet so we went on up to the park. When we finally could check in we were a little disappointed as on our notes and also our check in voucher it advised the staff we were on our honeymoon but nothing was said to us, we weren't expecting an upgrade but a comment would have been nice to make it special. The hotel its self is fairly basic and it quite a drive to the park and the general Sherman. We went to the pizza restaurant across the road which was well worth a visit, the pizza was great. The hotel was ok but we probably wouldn't visit for any longer than one night.

I researched the hotels in this area and within the Park. I am so glad we stayed here. The hotels in the park are very old and rustic and expensive. There aren't many choices for eating in the Park either. The Comfort Inn was a good alternative. The staff was very helpful and the room was clean. We had a microwave and refrigerator which came in very handy. The complimentary breakfast was good compared to what was offered at other hotels we've stayed at. The air conditioner in the room was a little loud but so worth having as the two days we were there the outside temperatures were over a 100 degrees.

Room Tip: We had a room on the first floor next to the laundry room and the ice machine. We could hear the noi...

No more or less than we were expecting ... a very typical and standard Comfort Inn (probably just a tad below standard for their chain). The room was clean and neat - obviously had some age to it but looked like they'd recently updated with some paint and some newer furnishings.

One thing that drives me nuts (personally) is when the designers of a hotel choose to place shower heads so that they're only about 5 1/2 feet off the floor level. As someone who is a little over 6 feet, it's like having a limbo dance every time you want to wash your hair. :-(

Overall - a GREAT location in terms of Sequoia National Park and a good place to spend the night.

ONE complaint unrelated to the room itself. We had made a reservation for three nights. On arrival, we let them know that we would only be staying two nights (giving them more than 48 hours notice of our cancellation of the third night). They still insisted on a $40 cancellation charge.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review for us. We appreciate everything you wrote and use every review as an opportunity to improve. I agree about the shower heads as my husband has to duck and rinse as well when we travel.

We do tell every reserving guest about our early departure fee so that we can assure that the guest will be staying for their entire reservation. This is also backed up by an email confirmation as well. As you know we are not on a main hwy or interstate and we do not have many driveby travelers who don't already have reservations made somewhere in our area. Our 48 hour cancellation of / or reservation change period prior to arrival does allow us some time to re book for those days changed or cancelled.

I hope that the rest of your journey was safe and happy.

Warm Regards,

Shelly Matlock
