The drive up Mineral King Road is a bit harrowing but completely worth it. It's a cabin on a mountain so a little adventure should be expected. We stayed in Cabin C which has its own restroom (beware, macerating water closet so toilet paper cannot flush) and probably the best view, although the shared restroom for Cabins A and B was really quite nice as are the views from both.
We were expecting much more rustic so were pleasantly surprised by the amenities. Brand new gas grill outside, gas stove and refrigerator inside. The cabin is solar powered which is awesome and we had no trouble with power at all, as we were able to play music throughout the evening. It can be warm at night for sleeping so I would plan on going in the later months rather than peak of summer.
Paradise Beach, which is about a 10-minute hike down the hill is beautiful, secluded and amazing. The walk is a bit steep but made easy with a sturdy hand rope most of the way down. The water is clean, cold and amazing. Perfect for an early morning swim.
There is no cell service but an emergency phone is on site and David, the property manager, is very good at his job.
We would recommend this place to anyone with a sense of adventure and a love for nature. It's a little off of the beaten path which is what makes it great.
