“Still something basic missing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

3rd stop to our first RV holiday. We stayed there 4 nights. We had the lot #55 and it's a great spot as directly on the river (yes you can hear it at night as there a no other noise coming from either a road, a pool, a bar...). Everything worked perfect. A huge tree to give us a shadow much appreciated, a place to grill (basic but ok) and very friendly staff at the front desk. Wi-fi works perfectly so what is missing ? I was missing a shop to buy first necessities (milk, water, a bit of food but nothing fancy, some wine, well basic stuff). As well I would have appreciate either a possibility to rent a bike, or some kind of vehicle to allows me to go three rivers and than take the shuttle his to go to Sequoia. If you don't want to unplug, replug your RV and you don't have an additional mean of transportation you are stuck. Well I walked the 2 miles each way to the gas station as our surplus of water was getting low and it is feasible of course but not really a nice walk directly on the road. Otherwise perfect. This is what a thought camping would be

Thank you for your review. We are so glad that you enjoyed all aspects of the RV park itself. Site #55 is a lovely spot on the river. We are sorry, however, that you were inconvenienced by not having groceries on site. Most people who unhook to travel to Sequoia National Park will purchase groceries at that time. Three Rivers is a nice quaint town where you can purchase most anything you need and is only 2 miles from our campground.

We stayed here in a 22" motor home during the week following Memorial Day. We chose a river front full hookup site to celebrate our wedding aniversary. It was beautiful and relaxing. The river is neither wide nor deep. Even the swimming hole was only a wading hole, but it was deep enough to sit in and refresh. The dog loved lieing down and getting cool. Apparently the river is very low because of the draught. One of the permanent residents said that many years the river is filled up the banks and only a few feet below ground level. Maybe next time. Restrooms/showers were inside the next door trailer park. Old but clean, the showers were pay.

Our neighbors were very nice and everyone looked out for each other. We went out to a mexican dinner in 3 Rivers and it was terrible. The market sold firewood for $10 a box and water for $1.80 a gallon. Even water at the Shell station was much cheaper. Get gas, water, wood, etc. in Exeter or anywhere else lol.

Took a day to see Sequoia National Park. Took us an hour and a half to get to logepole, but from there we took the handy shuttles to see the park. Definitely needed another day, but the drive to/from was too long. next time we will dry camp for a couple of days in Lodgepole. Btw vehicles over 22" are not supposed to travel the roads of the park.

We mostly came to relax in the rv park and that is mostly what we did. Got up had coffee and breakfast, took dog for a walk and sat and read/surfed internet by river, had lunch, relaxed in river, had dinner, made bon fire, played lighted frisbee, talked, looked at stars, surfed internet, repeat. We had cable tv hooked up, but only watched Americas Got Talent. Nothing else. Listened to Pandora. What is better than that?

Room Tip: River is great for a few dollars more, but even a boondocker can spend the day at the river.

This park has a great location backing up to the river and within easy drive to the national park. The sites are narrow, graveled with a small concrete slab for the picnic table. There are fire pits, but the narrowness of the sites make for fires that are very close to neighbor RV's. Our fire pit was full of plastic garbage and the main garbage bin was overflowing. The restrooms/showers are located quite a distance from the campground and are in the middle of the permanent mobile park next to the rv grounds. They were built in the 60's and have not had much upgrade since. The men's toilets had shower curtains instead of doors. Cost at least $1.25 to shower as you pump in your quarters. We stayed here 2 nights in our camper pulling a cargo trailer. In conclusion: location is good, the rest is pretty average

Thank you for taking time to post a review. We were surprised to hear about the trash in your fire pit. Our goal is to check each site once it is vacated to assure that the next campers find their spot in good order. We will follow-up on this. We work hard to maintain cleanliness in our restrooms and have upgraded as much as the State will allow us (we've been unable to secure permits to build a new bathhouse). Our State is also experiencing a water crisis and we have to regulate our water usage, which is best accomplished by using coin operated showers. Not all of our sites are the same size, and we do try to accommodate the size of the rig, based on availability.

We are on a road trip and only had the pleasure of an overnight stay but this park is really special. Located in a wooded valley just enough out of the way to be isolated but close enough to the road network to be aces able, difficult tondo but they have managed it in sequoia ranch. We would have loved to stay for a few days but we were on a schedule and had to leave before we wanted to.

Thanks to,all,at the park and keep the place special.

Room Tip: Bring your own! It's a camp site, ps the pool is a river swimming hole great fun

We stayed for one night and were very pleased. The staff were friendly and it is in a lovely location. The toilets are secluded and functional; although you have to pay $1.25 for a shower with quarters.

There was a fire pit with our site and the whole place had a friendly atmosphere.

My husband booked this site for our 17 foot conversion van, en route from Las Vegas to Sequoias and Kings Canyon National Parks. The park was barely full, riverfront as mentioned ( though not our site ), and backed up to a trailer home park, where the bathrooms are centrally located and showers are charged for . We were surprised to find that the night before, a storm had knocked over some trees that took out the power to the entire facility. When we arrived around 6 PM, there was no power ( no showers, no flushing toilets, etc.) while this might not have been a problem for most big rigs, in a small camper with no shower, no toilet, this was a concern. Little did we know that the electric service men would be standing over our campsite with their massive, loud trucks, and flashing lights at 12 AM!!! When I reported this to the office lady as I checked in the next day, she was relatively unapologetic. We were still charged for the first night even though we could not plug in. I understand it is not their fault but I still feel as though they could have done something to compensate for our discomfort. The one redeeming fact was the maintenance man was a true delight. After babysitting the electric crew all night, The next morning he hand-Drew us a map to Grants grove, in Kings Canyon, after calling to see what roads were open without the use of chains. We hade an amazing time at the national park and overall enjoyed our stay in that part of California. My one lasting complaint is that THEY CHARGE YOU FOR SHOWERS!!!! Do they charge you to take a shower at a hotel?!? NO!!! Then why, after paying for a spot, do they charge you ( 1.00 for 8 min.) to shower? Absolutely ridiculous. Up the rate 2$ a person, and don't charge for showers. It's stilly, pointless, and the reason we will never return.

Thank you for posting your review. Unfortunately, your stay coincided with the loss of two of our beautiful trees that downed our electric lines. We had our manager and our electricity provider working into the wee hours of the morning to try to get the system up and running. I'm sure if your visit was at any other time your experience would have been much different and we apologize for the inconvenience.

We were looking for a night before heading to sequoia and sequoia rv ranch was the spot.

Jen assisted us with our booking and we had a nice back in on the river front with table and chairs and fire pit.
Neighbours were close but not on top of us.
Our wifi was a bit patchy....

We used the swimming hole to cool off when we arrived - it was fun but SO cold!!
We bought wood and it was delivered to our rv promptly!

The amenities were clean but you had to pay 25c for showers.
The owner took time out to help us with directions and give us alternative suggestions to see sequoias - we didn't realise we couldn't drive our 32ft rv into the park to see the trees- oops !

We had great neighbours and had a fun time at sequoia rv ranch- thanks for a fun time!

Room Tip: Get a river frontage spot! Frogs and owls with the sound of the river will lull you to sleep!

We are so glad that you enjoyed your camping experience with us. We generally have a very strong WIFI signal, but if other campers are over-taxiing the system, it may weaken the signal somewhat (notice our last review response about the strong WIFI signal ). You braved the swimming hole, which is very refreshing in the summer, chilly this time of year, but always fun.
