We stayed here in a 22" motor home during the week following Memorial Day. We chose a river front full hookup site to celebrate our wedding aniversary. It was beautiful and relaxing. The river is neither wide nor deep. Even the swimming hole was only a wading hole, but it was deep enough to sit in and refresh. The dog loved lieing down and getting cool. Apparently the river is very low because of the draught. One of the permanent residents said that many years the river is filled up the banks and only a few feet below ground level. Maybe next time. Restrooms/showers were inside the next door trailer park. Old but clean, the showers were pay.
Our neighbors were very nice and everyone looked out for each other. We went out to a mexican dinner in 3 Rivers and it was terrible. The market sold firewood for $10 a box and water for $1.80 a gallon. Even water at the Shell station was much cheaper. Get gas, water, wood, etc. in Exeter or anywhere else lol.
Took a day to see Sequoia National Park. Took us an hour and a half to get to logepole, but from there we took the handy shuttles to see the park. Definitely needed another day, but the drive to/from was too long. next time we will dry camp for a couple of days in Lodgepole. Btw vehicles over 22" are not supposed to travel the roads of the park.
We mostly came to relax in the rv park and that is mostly what we did. Got up had coffee and breakfast, took dog for a walk and sat and read/surfed internet by river, had lunch, relaxed in river, had dinner, made bon fire, played lighted frisbee, talked, looked at stars, surfed internet, repeat. We had cable tv hooked up, but only watched Americas Got Talent. Nothing else. Listened to Pandora. What is better than that?
