My ten year old son and I had a weekend planned in the mountains at another cabin higher up the mountains but the road was closed due to a snow storm. I scrambled to find a place and found the Cort Cottage. I called Elsah on Thursday evening and asked about availability for the next night. She was very accommodating even though she had other things on her schedule and we are calling at the last minute.
The cottage has a fully furnished kitchen that we thought was great. We had planned to do our own cooking and that worked out great. The cottage is tucked away from any main road and has a beautiful view. It is not a huge cottage but that is part of the fun. The bathroom had a very unique shower and living area was very cozy. It was a perfect spot for what we needed as we spent Saturday in the park where the snow was beautiful and where we saw 15 deer including 5 large bucks!
Elsah stopped in and helped us with planning our day and gave some pointers about some fun things to do in the summer too. This was a perfect place for me and my son to enjoy just us two guys but I also told my wife that we should also plan to get away this spring - maybe we will shoot for wildflower season.
