“A Pleasant First Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012

This was my first visit to Polcari's in Saugus, and I was not disappointed. This Italian restaurant and an impressive menu, a good selection of wine and beer, friendly and competent staff, and a wonderful atmosphere. Served prior to the entree is hot bread and fresh salad, both of which were perfect. We elected to try two different pizzas, both of which were very good. Our server, Matt, was exceptional. I would certainly return to this restaurant to try some of the other items on the menu.

“Good Italian Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

We totally enjoyed our dining experience at Polcari's on Route 1 in Saugus. For starters the bread and oil was to die for Th oil was so good we bought a bottle for the house. My chicken Parm was enough for 3. Nice thin crusty chicken with cheese and I am sure home made sauce. The chicken and broccoli was equally as good. The pizzzas passing by also look delicious. The service was OK and the price was reasonable. We will return.

“Great Service and Huge Portions”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

My friend and I picked up our very tired and hungry Norwegian relatives and drove down route 1 looking for something yummy to eat. We'd never been to this location so we decided to give it a try and it was a great decision. They loved the menu (Italian restaurants aren't very common in Norway) and we all got delicious food. Our waiter was super nice and cute, and told us how much he loved each meal we ordered (good selling point!). There was a live band playing in the lounge which was cool to listen to; we kind of wished we had known they had live music as we would have asked to sit in the lounge but that's our fault for not noticing the sign as you enter pointing it out. I got the lemon chicken Florentine and it was so good! Huge portions. Each of us took our meal home. My friend got lasagna, also delicious and the Norwegian relatives were brave and tried Cacciatore and sausage Cavatappi. Their food looked good too. I had a strong sangria and they enjoyed some beers. Prices are more than reasonable for the crazy amount of food you're given, and it came out in a decent amount of time. The dipping sauce for the bread was also a hit, but a little too spicy for my tastes. Polcari's never disappoints so we'd definitely go back!

“Great food and Pizza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

Pizza and food is very good. They always split a chicken alfredo for my 2 sons which is very helpful since one order is to much for them. We always enjoy the pizza as well which is very good. Our favorite seat is one of the large booths. We will keep coming back.

“Ok Italian food in a pinch”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

--We just happened to be driving down Rte 1 & found ourselves hungry w/few dining choices. Polcari's serves generous portions of ok Italian dishes (a wide variety of soups, salads, apps, panini, pastas, calzones, & their Pizzeria Regina brand pizzas). They serve lunch, dinner, take-out: pick-up, curbside, or office delivery, catering, private functions, & online ordering. Check their schedule for entertainment (live music, karaoke, trivia, NFL football, a children's magician, a juggler). Their bar is open Sunday, Monday and Tuesday until Midnight. Wednesday and Thursday they're open until 1AM and Friday and Saturday until 2AM.

The Chicken Parmesan (10.99/16.50) served over linguine--standard, but enjoyable.
And, for 16.50, The Chiaffettoni (ski-uf-fet-tony ) was a generous dish of jumbo rigatoni tossed in a rich sauce of sweet caramelized onions, toasted walnuts, fresh spinach and a garlic cream sauce. Ok, but we'd like to try these w/their rich Alfredo Sauce. They do cook to order.

They have so many different things going on, & the place is huge so service can seem slow, but is usually friendly.

They serve full menu all day, but lunch specific menu is only available Monday through Saturday 11am - 3pm. Kids under 12 eat FREE on Tuesday nights & there's a magician).
