“worth the 12 hr drive From Nova Scotia”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

We drove from The South Shore of Nova Scotia Because we saved over $1,300.00 on flights to San Juan..We Booked the the Holiday Inn Express because it was close to the airport..The price was great as well as the staff. We parked our car for 10 days with no problem..The shuttle to the airport was a bonus...Breakfast was also fine...Lots of places to eat supper just a walk away....Plus you can see the kids play hockey next door...I will stay at this hotel again...Clean and quiet

We would first like to thank you for your review! We are very glad that you enjoyed your stay. A lot of our guests use our park and fly deals and keep you from paying the high prices of parking at the airport. Our location makes it pretty easy to get around with plenty of places within walking distance to eat as well. Thank you so much for your review!

Okay so we stayed at this hotel that we booked through Hotels.com for $151 a night plus tax. We fortunately only booked it for one night because my husband wanted to check it out first before we committed to an entire week. I am glad that I agreed because it was not the greatest room at all. The staff was not friendly and left out so much information. We had to practically beg them to tell us the littlest of things. Also the highway it's off of is like a drag race zone. Very dangerous IMO because cars are at very high speeds and then they are turning off or trying to get on like they would in a normal speed zone but with greater acceleration. My husband and I joked about the mandatory drag racing whenever we were in that area and thankfully it wasn't that often. I felt ripped off and I will never stay there again. Not worth the money we paid. The only good things about it was the free breakfast, free parking and free internet. We ended up using our Hotelcoupons.com book and found an amazing deal for a wonderful Comfort Inn Hotel in Danvers for $77 bucks a night! Huge room and quiet too! Staff was great and no drag strip racing there. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g41519-d126071-Reviews-Comfort_Inn_North_Shore-Danvers_Massachusetts.html

Room Tip: If they try to give you a room by the drag strip say no! Ask for a quiet room if you have to stay t...

We would like to thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay. We would like to apologize for the inconvenience. Our location is off of a very busy highway in Saugus. But being located on the busy highway has it's advantages of numerous places to eat and shopping. We are glad that you at least enjoyed the complimentary breakfast wifi and parking.

Only stayed one night, to catch early morning flight from Logan. It’s right off Rt 1. We were familiar with its location, so were not upset by its proximity to airport. It was the most reasonably priced of the park/sleep/fly airport hotels when we used it.

Lobby area is rather dark and dreary, does not give a positive first impression. Check in was handled efficiently. Room itself was fine, on 1st floor at end of corridor, but did not hear street noise. Room was clean but dark; altho they had plenty of lamps the bulbs did not give off enough light, some furniture a little scuffed. Bed was ok, a little too soft for me, but that’s personal taste. Would have liked outlets on lamps by bed for e-readers and phones, but there were outlets on lamp on desk .
As mentioned by other poster bathtub is slippery, could use a more textured finish. Wakeup call was 10 min late, luckily we were already awake otherwise this could have set us back in getting to ready to leave for flight.
GOOD- appreciated that the vanity and sink were outside shower/ toilet room, that always help when rushing to get ready. Vanity had deep lower shelf we could stash both carryon bags out of way and room had large stool/ottoman that easily held our one large bag. Small frig in cabinet was good for water/snacks. Flight left too early for breakfast, so can’t comment on that. HVAC unit was located under window but worked well, constant fan acted as white noise, we were glad it didn’t cycle on and off. SHUTTLE to airport - Very good, took about 20 - 25 min in early morning; about 35 - 40 min when we returned during afternoon rush hour. We found drivers to be friendly and nice, and we had no problem with their driving. Be aware tho, when we called Holiday Inn to request that the shuttle pick us up, the woman at the hotel directed us to wait at the “third island” - Wrong! We thought this was strange, since the first island was signed for courtesy vans, but she had been very explicit. The courtesy van arrived at first island , not where we were told to wait. So we had to cross over 2 lanes of traffic to get the van. Happily, we did not have to wait too long for it, about 15 - 20 min.

Would recommend hotel for overnight before flight, but not for leisure traveler as it is not ultra modern and you can’t really walk to anything on super busy highway. Think hotel would greatly improve if it replaced dark, dull colors with lighter and brighter ones, and increased lighting. Dark colors and lack of light makes hotel seem too dreary and not welcoming.

Hotel is wonderful. Staff is excellent, BUT drivers to and from airport were terrible. I've been in taxis in NYC where I felt safer than the drive to and from Logan. Speeding down Rt 1 was not the way I wanted to begin and end our vacation. Its also quite far from the airport. There are hotels much closer.

I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. Completely ruined what was a wonderful trip to Austin TX.

Thank you for your review. We would first like to apologize about this inconvenience. Our van drivers go through careful screening from the hotel and Massport as well. Our drivers should not be speeding down the highway like that. This issue has been brought up to the General Manager as well as the Van supervisor. Once again we apologize for this inconvenience.

The hotel is NOT near the airport at all. Please BE WARNED.We waited for our van to pick us up at the airport at least 35 minutes! Over all the room is good and comfortable. But this should not be considered an airport hotel. Parking is free and a simple breakfast is included in the room.I would go to a hotel nearer the airport NOT this one.We stayed here for 2nights and just decided this is a lesson to be learned . Next time,we need to be more careful in choosing our hotels. This is definitely NOT for those who want to be close to the airport.

Thank you so much for your review. We apologize for this inconvenience. We understand we are not right at the airport but 20-25 minutes away. The good thing is that as you know we do have the shuttle that goes back and forth to Logan from 4am to 12:30 at night. Also, we do have a hot complimentary breakfast buffet as well. We also understand that being closer to the airport is very important. Once again we apologize for this inconvenience.

I agree with tbikerman that is not really an airport hotel. But at Logan this is as good as you will get for the price. The motel needs to buy another shuttle van or maybe supersize the one they have. We made a reservation for the shuttle on check out, but some other folks took our places on the van. We had to fight to get the unreserved passengers kicked off so that we could get on.

Good, large breakfast room with 2 TVs. Mostly sports playing on it, which is good, unlike other motels that have all that stressful politcal stuff on.

Watch out - one of the chauffeurs is really slick. He brought us from the airport, then when we got there, he flipped through a bunch of $5 bills as if this is what he was expecting to get when we got there.

Though they are understaffed for shuttle service, they are good about getting you to where you need to be. They will drop you at the train station if you want to explore Boston.

Thank you so much for your review! This is the best price to get with our location. Unfortunately our shuttles are smaller fitting only ten people. We are currently in the process of looking into a bigger shuttle as well. But we do our best to make sure that everyone who has signed up for the shuttle is on the shuttle. We are very sorry that you had some unreserved passengers tried to take your spot on the van. Also, the issue of how the shuttle driver was flipping through a bunch of bills has been brought up to my General Manager as well as the Van Supervisor. But thank you again for your review we hope you stay again soon!

We stayed two nights at this hotel before and after our flights to and from Italy. We needed parking for three weeks and were able to get it free through our reservation with Stay 123.com.
We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hot and cold breakfast was fine. The shuttle service to and from the airport worked well for us. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely come back.

Thank you so much for your review! We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay. Also, that the room was very clean and comfortable. The park and fly packages are the best and it’s so much easier to leave your car here and take the shuttle to the Airport. But we hope to have you stay again soon!
