“Nice but very small”

Not that big of deal. A nice walk but not a destination. Go to the beach instead. It's a nice little garden.

“wonderful place for photos or a stroll”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

The gardens are very nicely manicured and it is very peaceful. Great place to see the beautiful rose garden, the Japanese garden and pagoda, the murals of the California Missions, the lovely waterfalls and statues, etc. Nice place for a quiet stroll or for photos. Entry is free and you can linger as long as you like or just get away for a few minutes of peace and tranquility. Across from the Lakes shopping center and Civic Center.

“great place to picnic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

great place for locals to stroll and picnic - you can walk the small park, taking time to look at the plants and flowers - it shouldn't take more than 45 minutes. The docents are pretty firm on running and playing - not the best place for 3-6 year olds I would say.

“Visit 5 countries without leaving Thousand Oaks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

Located on Thousand Oaks blvd, right across the street from The Lakes (Caruso Center) and the Civic Art Plaza -- this is a unique garden showing many different cultures and gardening styles.

My favorite, being a native Californian -- is the Mission center. Very authentic, and highlights all 21 California Missions in the courtyard.

Arrive early -- as parking is limited

“Beautiful gardens representing five different countries”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013

The gardens are beautifully taken care of and represent five different countries. My favorite was the Japanese garden. This is a very nice and relaxing way to spend an hour or two, depending on how much you want to just sit and enjoy the tranquility. It is also free, which was very nice.
