Very dissapointed, after going there to take some casual pictures for our Christmas cards, we enter the garden and where chased down by a docent who told us that pictures are not allowed, you must register first and make an appointment at a specific time and date to be able to take even casual pictures, that the pictures we had already taken must be errased!!!... we could not believe our ears..to say the least my husband wanted to leave immediately, we had a little instamatic camera, not even a tripod!!! We are picture buffs and love to take pictures of nature. Well this is not the place for it. We took a quick run around the park at my insistence, nothing spectacular. We left and took beautiful nature pictures at the near by Conejo Valley Botanic Gardens, where you are free to roam around and relax!!!!

Thank you for your comments regarding your visit to the Gardens of the World last year. I’m sorry to hear that your experience was less than enjoyable. Our photography guidelines http://gardensoftheworld.info/Forms/RegulationsAndPhotographyGuidelines.pdf are intended mostly for professional or group photography sessions. If you were just taking casual photos as described, you should not have been instructed to make an appointment for photography, and certainly not to erase any photos you had taken. I appreciate you bringing this to our attention so that we can take the appropriate steps to insure that guests visiting the Gardens taking a few casual photos are not given improper instructions.
