“It is what it is”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2008

It is what it is - blah, but clean hotel, far away from the tourist stuff (unless you count the outlet mall as tourist stuff). Will not be my first trip on a return visit to Santa Fe.

We elected to stay here simply for the price and it's association with the Marriott. We were not disappointed, in fact we were very pleasantly surprised. We have stayed all over Santa Fe during Indian Market week in August and while the Fairfield is a bit far from the Plaza it was an excellent experience. The manager is very accomodating, and the cleaning staff do a wonderful and quick job. We were very grateful our room was on the "back" side since the hotel sits right on Cerrillos which is a very busy main road. We booked well in advance and our room was very inexpensive, we have paid much more than this and have had rooms elsewhere that were far less pleasant.

  • Liked — price and convenience
  • Disliked — very few ammenities

The room was adequate but the noise level from people walking upstairs kept us awake a good deal of the night. When we complained the following morning the general manager indicated there was nothing the hotel could do since we did not complain the prior evening. We would not stay there again.

Nice overall but you would think being a Marriott they would have put double pane windows on the street side, we had the fan on high and can still clearly hear road noise. Courtyard is best choice for a little more money. Steve & Deb from Colorado

Glad we only stayed one night.

Got this last minute on a Fri night arranged by a person at the Santa Fe Airport...It's not a bad place to stay on a budget (around $100). The room was clean, bed was reasonably comfortable.. A computer was available at the front desk and the internet connection was free.. They had a nice breakfast selection. For example, you could microwave an "Egg McMuffin" like packaged product which is more than is usually available at these type places.. The only complaint is that it is in a bit of a remote location. Blue Corn Cafe is about the only good restaurant nearby. It's probably a 10 min drive to get into the downtown area which is where all sites and good restaurants are. Next trip I'd book something in the downtown area which allows you to be in walking distance of the shops and restaurants.. Of course that will cost more..

I visited Santa Fe and stayed at the Fairfield inn by Marriot for a week in June 2008.
Everything was just great. The staff, the cleanliness of the room, the bathroom. A microwave and frig. with a great T.V.
The breakfast. and the availability of the internet service all the time at no charge. A great surprise was that at a very short walking distance is a Mall and a movie theatre.
The room price is reasonable. You also have a coffee maker and coffee bags in your room.
This is way better than any of the 5 stars hotels I ever stayed in.

Hotel was undergoing renovation when I stayed here, so that was a drag. Hotels should let people know when they are renovating when you make you reservation. Room was OK and Front Desk staff were friendly & helpful. Continental Breakfast was OK.
