4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014

My family and I enjoyed out stay at the hotel after we had to speak with the manager about getting a room on the opposite side away from the highway. The rooms are neat and the hotel is new. We ended up on the fourth floor facing the mountains. One issue we discovered is that there is no way to open a window or sliding door at night to get some fresh air. We had to go out and purchase some rope to rig up a locking system that allowed the door to be open a few inches for air at night. I do not like to be sealed up air tight in such a beautiful place as Santa Fe. The hotel is very clean and new. However, breakfast is given to Hilton Honors club members only. Non member have to pay $12 a person. This seems elitist to me. The fitness center is nice but the pool is always in the shade because of the strange layout of the hotel. We stayed three days and no one used the pool. The rooms are nice and the view is good. The overall friendliness of the staff was lacking. The cleaning crew were really friendly, but the front desk staff only talked to themselves unless you had to ask them for something. Enjoy your stay at Doubletree

Dear David L,

Thank you kindly for providing us with a review on your recent stay with us at the DoubleTree by Hilton Santa Fe. I apologize that our recommendation on locking the sliding door at night or when you are not occupying the room caused an inconvenience for you. Our guests safety and overall experience is our number one priority, and thus we like to provide best safety practices that are useful when traveling anywhere. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the view from your room; you are correct in that Santa Fe is a very beautiful place! Thank you again, and we hope to see you soon.

I stayed here with my family of four, including 2 children, for two nights last week at the end of a week-long trip through the Albuquerque/Santa Fe area. Our room was small but very clean and modern, with a refrigerator and microwave, which was convenient. Staff was friendly and helpful. We experienced no terrible issues with noise, even though we were close to the elevators/ice machine and our room faced Cerrillos Rd. The kids loved the indoor/outdoor pool. The best feature for me was the light-up makeup mirror - a simple touch but I had just been to 2 other hotels with poor lighting and it really was great to have that. Many familiar chain restaurants are nearby, so if you're stuck looking for takeout at 10pm or the kids are feeling mutinous about having any more "authentic" New Mexican food, this is the place to be. The only downsides - it's in a very busy area with lots of traffic, and it can be hard to see the hotel entrance from the road.

Room Tip: Sign up for the free Hilton Honors program and you'll have a room on the top [4th] floor. 431 fa...

Green Features: There were recycling containers in the rooms, which is the first we'd seen in New Mexico.

My stay at the Santa Fe Double Tree was a very pleasant one. When comparing the prices of hotels in Santa Fe, the Double Tree was one of the better ones. Having previous experiences with other Double Tree Hotels, I knew it was a great deal. The Santa Fe Double Tree did not disappoint - location was ideal and the rooms, as always, were comfortable and clean!

Located a short drive outside of town and convenient to major routes. Parking here is free (not typical for Santa Fe). Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. The ceiling in our room was low and made the room feel small, but the refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker were nice options. Desk staff were pleasant and helpful, but there only ever seemed to be one person at the desk and there was always a line. The lobby is relaxing, did not use the pool or restaurant. Stayed while on a trip to see the Santa Fe Opera and this was a reasonable, reliable and affordable choice.

Green Features: Loved the "split" trash cans in the room and bathroom. 1/2 marked specifically for disposing of recyclables. Also liked that the in room coffeemaker uses filter pods, not keurig k-cups (which are not compostable nor recyclable).

Dear MommaMyers,

Thank you for your review about your recent stay with us at the DoubleTree by Hilton Santa Fe! I'm happy that you utilized some of our green features that our hotel provides. While all of our rooms come equipped with refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, if I may suggest a room on the first floor for your next stay with us! Our first floor rooms feature high ceilings with floating vigas that provide an extra southwestern feel to the room; the first floor rooms are my favorite! We appreciate you being our guest, and we hope to have the privilege of serving you again.

We are HHilton honors members but don't expect to be recognized at this property. I love Hilton, but this property failed in meeting even our minimum expectations for friendly and responsive service. Wet towels, no coffee and slow response. Good thing Santa Fe is so great because our stay at this location was not.

We had a nice stay at this hotel for the International Folk Art Festival. There was a free shuttle which took us to the lot where we got the festival shuttle to & from Museum Hill, which was very helpful. Beds & pillows were comfy, the bathroom was large. The plumbing was amazingly silent - I slept in the bed by the wall next to the bathroom and never heard a thing when my companion showered.

Pluses were free chocolate chip cookies whenever we asked (don't think about the calories), coffee in the morning & cold water in the afternoon. Breakfast was not included, but with a refrigerator & a microwave in the room & lots of stores nearby it wasn't a problem. The hotel's location is okay for amenities like chain restaurants, stores, and a mall, but there's none of the Santa Fe ambiance that comes with more centrally-located places. Cerrillos is one the main arteries into town, though, so getting to the museums and the Plaza was easy.

If you're thinking about eating at the Blue Corn Brewery & restaurant around the corner, ask at the desk for a $5 off coupon.

Room Tip: Rooms on the top floor facing west have a great view of the sunset if you can shut out the noise dow...

I am happy to hear that you were able to utilize our complimentary 24-hour shuttle service for the International Folk Art Festival. We want to make your visit during busy weekends such as Folk Art Festival weekend is as convenient and relaxing as possible.
