“Great value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

First of all, we rate things on cost per ratio of service and quality. We stayed at the In at Santa Fe in October and had a wonderful time. We highly recommend it.

The staff on the front desk were very helpful and friendly. We asked for a quiet room, which they gave us, on the top floor. A big plus for us is that the doors do not slam on their own - they are set up to close quietly. This is a blessing for light sleepers. Our room had a very good shower but no tub. If you want a tub, doublecheck with you book on availability.

The hotel has a cafe with evening meals (limited choice) but good value, along with bar service. Their breakfast is also good although on two occasions there was a shortage of butter and cutlery. There is also a guest laundry, which is very convenient.

The hotel has a shuttle, which can be booked to take guests downtown. It is also located on a city bus line. There are no restaurants within walking distance. The bus will take you about two miles down the road to a shopping mall with plenty of restaurants. The bus is so cheap - only $2 for a day pass, or one dollar if you are over 60!

We highly recommend the In at Santa Fe, located just off the interstate.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor. Our room was a little cramped, which is why we took off one star...

We spent 4 nights here in October. At first we were impressed with the friendly check-in, cleanliness, room amenities and the quiet room. We were sorry to learn they only have queen beds. We had one queen bed in our room.

The next morning we slept thru the free breakfast and were disappointed to find only decaf coffee in our room. We asked for regular coffee for the next day and got it. After that, we had to ask for everything...soap, shampoo and more coffee. They have a policy of not washing towels until the 4th day unless you throw your dirty towels on the shower/tub floor. Well, we did throw our face cloths on the shower floor, but didn't get new ones.

The breakfast is good with lots of variety, but they only have one person replentishing food, restocking plates, napkins, etc and toting off the dirty dishes. So, the tables don't get wiped down, the plates run out and there isn't a bin for dirty dishes when he takes a full one away.

The Cafe has a happy hour; we missed it. We did use one of our $20 Living Social dinner coupons one night, but were not happy with the taste of the food...no New Mexico flavors.

The hotel is at I-25 and Cerillos Road. Not very convenient to the square, art galleries or botique shopping.

It was a great deal with Living Social, but we would choose a different hotel next time.

We stayed in the standard queen room. The room is small but comfortable and well lit. The full breakfast is very good with plenty of fresh eggs (and chilies to put on top.) Very good value and very accommodating service for our group.

We stayed here one night at the end of our recent trip. Rooms are small but comfortable. This is a 3-story with elevator, and they have carts so you don't have to lug suitcases much.

Restaurant closes at 8pm and the dinner for $12.95 was meh. Breakfast was good (ends at 9am, folks) with scrambled eggs and make your own waffles. A fair assortment of other stuff and free!

TV had very weak picture. I called desk, they said they could fix from there, didn't, then i reached behind the TV, jiggled some cords, and fixed it.

Pool is good, hot tub nice and sauna quite large, but we couldn't get the controls to work. Fitness room is small with three pieces, but no fresh towels or wipes.

Room Tip: one side is away from freeway

After doing research on where to stay in Santa Fe, we picked the Inn at Santa Fe. We were not disappointed at all. We had family flying in from the U.K. so we wanted a nice hotel that was reasonably priced. Our two night stay was $ 89.00 per night + tax. Very charming hotel and friendly staff. We checked in during happy hour 5 - 7 PM. Half price drinks and appetizers. We had been on the road all day, so it was nice to sit down in the dining area, have a drink and get some food without having to go anywhere else. There were leather couches and chairs in the lounge/dining area that were very comfortable. There were other little areas that had the leather furniture also.

I liked that this hotel was away from the downtown area. It is right on the edge of south side of town. The room was small, but well appointed. It was clean and smelled clean. Our room had two larger size twin beds. There would not have been enough room for 3 people, by the way. The bathroom had a pocket door. That was charming! New TV with lots of channels, comfortable beds, shower had good water pressure. Free WiFi that worked. Microwave and frig in the rooms. Pool was outside. It was not very far from an outlet mall. There was a huge guest laundry on the second floor that had vending machines and a TV. They have an elevator if you need it.

Breakfast was free and outstanding. Real plates and napkins. My family said the bacon was the best they have ever had . We were there two days. There was eggs Florentine one morning. The scrambled eggs were excellent also. Yum Yum. Tortillas, bagels, fruit, cereal, muffins that were out of this world. They will give you the recipe at the front desk if you ask. Sitting down for breakfast in the beautiful dining room with overstuffed leather chairs was great.

Next time we come to Santa Fe, this is where we will stay. There is so much to see and do here that we will certainly be back. Two days was not enough time in this lovely city.

I have found that by researching ahead of time on TripAdvisor before I pick a place to stay, I am rarely disappointed.
