“Always a pleasant experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2014

We visit Santa Fe yearly, and we always stay near the plaza. Location is everything, as parking in Santa Fe is at a premium. This is our third time to stay at the Inn at Loretto, and we won't hesitate to stay here again. The staff is accommodating, helpful, and friendly. The rooms are comfortable, but not plush--the bed is wonderful! We had a balcony with a view of the mountains. The restaurant is first rate, and the food in the lobby bar, The Living Room, is prepared in the kitchen--so it's good, too!

the location of this hotel is perfect. only one block off the plaza. so many shops and restaurants in walking distance that in my long weekend visit, i was not able to see them all. also used their award winning spa and it lived up to it's reviews. the lobby bar is great with varied seating, a fireplace and enjoyable live music. i would recommend getting a room looking out over the front of the building. the only downside to the whole stay occurred at checkout. we had gotten cream for our morning coffee at the bar to keep in the room. the cream pitcher it came in was a lovely design. we wanted to take it home with us and could have because no one knew we had it, but we decided to do the right thing and offer to pay for it at check out. believe it or not, the check out person refused and took it from us. we even asked again nicely again at the end of the check out process and she again refused. i would have rated the hotel a 5 if it were not for this. it soured a near perfect stay at a lovely place.

Room Tip: the from of the hotel seem brighter and a better view

Thank you for taking the time to review the Inn and Spa at Loretto. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We also love hearing how much you enjoyed the creamer pitchers and so wish we could have sent one home with you. I spoke with our purchasing manager and found out the creamers can be purchased from Izabel Lam of New York Item Number HT702SP. I'll message you with the direct link. Thank you again for your thoughtful compliments. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Inn on your next visit to Santa Fe! Warm Regards, Sheri Decker, General Manager

We spent five nights in January, traveling with friends to celebrate birthdays. They stayed in a famous hotel across town, but we booked here to be closer to the plaza. We liked our hotel better than theirs. Location was perfect and we found it to be very pleasant in most aspects.

The public areas of the hotel were lovely, warm, and comfortable. The restaurant was good, although service quality fluctuated drastically. One waiter was terrific, the next was terrible.

Our bed was very comfortable, and the linens were good. But temperature was an issue. The weather was bitter cold, and we had to turn on the heat, but we could not get the room to reach a pleasant temperature. It was too hot or too cold almost all the time. And way too dry. Eventually, we figured out to turn on the heat and open the balcony door so we could be warm without roasting. Hated to waste the energy, but it was the only way we found to avoid parching.

Our room had access to a balcony, but it was shared with the room next door, which was a little creepy since we didn't know the occupants. The room itself was lovely, but we found it to be difficult for a five day stay. There was not enough drawer or counter space to unpack our luggage completely. The bathroom was not as good as we expected for a "spa." Small tub, cramped space, and way too dark. The pedestal sink also didn't provide enough surface for toiletries. Most unsettling was that there was no safe in the room, and it was unnerving to leave electronics, cash, and jewelry unattended. But, we did, and nothing was missing when we returned.

Staff was pleasant and helpful. The positives for outweighed the negatives and we will return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with two sinks.

Prior to our destination wedding, my partner and I decided to legally marry in Santa Fe, as we aren't allowed in Texas. We booked at the hotel with two weeks notice. Vickie was spectacular. She took personal attention, personally greeted us on arrival and facilitated our last-minute escapade. We were upgraded to a suite and were treated like kings. The hotel staff welcomed us with knowledge of our special day, our dinner reservations were facilitated, we had flower and transportation referrals. Most of all, the staff was welcoming, genuinely happy, and made us feel at home. We were married on the sunset terrace on a crisp winter afternoon, by Suzanne Chavez, an officiant recommended by Vickie. We are grateful that every time we return to Santa Fe, we can return to this terrace and have a nice toast to remember this most beautiful day. I have traveled the world over the past 30 years and must say my experience at the Inn and Spa at Loretto was one of the best experiences we have had.
Let me begin with pulling up to the front of the hotel and the valet; Diego. he was cordial, professional and allowed me to feel as if I was a regular visitor here.
Cherise at the front desk was most accommodating and wanted to make certain my experience was excellent!
Sarah Etta, in the spa delivered the absolute BEST MASSAGE I have ever had and I have had many............
Sarah was professional, qualified and allowed me to relax and enjoy in such a way I didn't want the service to end. On top of Sarah's professional qualifications; she is a delightful person.
My husband and I enjoyed our dinner at Luminaria as well; coming from New York our expectations are always high and this destination surely exceeded them.
We are anxiously looking forward to our return visit in the fall. We had originally planned to go back to the Four Seasons; however our experience was so amazing and indigenous to the area.

Second time staying there. Everyone from reservation agents to front desk & valet treat you like a king. They take care of all your needs and always strive to make your stay the best. Rooms not anything special but adequate for a Santa Fe experience. Location is one of the best inSanta Fe, close to the square and the road to ski Santa Fe. Very clean and the restaurant is top notch.

The Inn and Spa is in a perfect location while visiting Santa Fe. Everything is in walking distance! There is great shopping opportunity in the hotel also. We loved the new Santa Fe Soap Ranch and all of the great artwork on display. The hotel's southwestern décor is amazing and very comfortable. We loved our fireplace and balcony. We enjoyed the Living Room and entertainment there. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The valet service is great and they were very helpful with directions and dining suggestions. Our only compliant was the noise of the church bells in the early morning. A small price to pay for such a great stay!
