“Nice Hotel for Santa Fe experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

I stayed 4 nights with a friend in a 2 queen bed room and there were many great things about the hotel and a few things that bothered us a bit. We loved the balcony off the room and slept with the door open the first night before it occurred to us that all of the balconies are connected and have low railings so it would be easy for someone to join us in the room. After that we slept with the air on and it worked fine.
As others have said the beds were wonderful with the softest sheets I can remember.
We did have a problem with an odor coming from the bathroom and told someone at the front desk. We came back to find a fan in the room, which was no help. We got used to the odor, but no one followed up to see if we were satisfied.
A couple of other small things bothered us- no shower caps, and no space around the sinks to put toiletries. Both are very easy to fix and I hope the hotel management reads this and addresses these issues.
We enjoyed the bar area they call the Living Room and wished we had more time to enjoy the pool which had very comfortable lounge chairs around it.
Our breakfasts were wonderful with lots of choices and large portions.
We always ate in the comfortable outside courtyard area. We had one dinner there with spotty service, a salad so skimpy we returned it (they gave us something else that was fine) and really great main courses.
The location was perfect, close to the city center but easy to escape by car for our day trips to the surrounding area.
Overall we were satisfied with this hotel but would recommend a bit of attention to the sorts of little things that could have made it better.

Green Features: Happy to see they did not switch out the plentiful towels unless they were on the floor. Many hotels have signs that say they do this but then change the towels daily. Also happy to see the shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel in pumps on the shower wall.

We spent four nights here in May 2013. Very clean and great service. But the location and restaurant could be the best in the city. Everything in walking distance, great pool area. Would stay again. It's a little pricey but sometimes they offer specials through living social. Room for improvement? Rooms need better lighting and some storage. Offer self parking not just valet.

Room Tip: junior suite overlooking pool with shared balconey

The beds at the Inn are to die for. The most comfortable in all of my travels. The padding, sheets, blankets, was heavenly. The drinks were fantastic in the bar area. The entertainment was stellar, wow, could that man sing! The ambience of the lobby and bar area is comfortable and southwestern. We loved our stay and would definitely stay here again. The concierge ladies are ditsy and have real attention and organization problems. Better to make your reservations on open table and skip that step or you will never get to your destination on time.

We just finished staying for 2 nights at the Inn and Spa at Loretto May 29th- 31st, 2013, suite 403, which was very nice. I'll tell about the room shortly. Upon arrival we were greeted by the excellent valet staff, we didn't have to handle any baggage up to our room, nor have any worry upon checkin. 5 stars for valet/bellmen. Always courteous, always professional and always a friendly smile and asking how everything was going. Checkin was equally easy. I will mention that parking is by valet only and we paid $19 per night.

We get up to our suite and loved it. Fireplace with firewood provided at no additional cost, comfortable leather sofa and loveseat, king size bed, a work table for us workaholics, complimentary wifi, mini bar(costly as others have pointed out) and TWO private balconies with tables and lounge chairs. The indian design of the room was awesome, toiletries were supplied in the bathroom such as soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. The suite also included hair dryer, iron and ironing board, 2 robes to use and 2 sets of slippers. On the 4th floor is a deck with loungers for everyone to share. I would guess the room is approximately 500 sqft.

The resort has a small heated pool and hot tub, fitness center, spa, a very nice restaurant(the downside is there are so many places to eat in Santa Fe that is reasonably priced that the one awesome restaurant seemed overpriced. Complimentary computers and printer to use, there are 3 computers in the workstation room. There is also nice lounge area called the Living Room that has a bar.

The location of the resort can't be beat. Right next to the world famous Loretto Chapel and The Miraculous Staircase, $3 fee to enter the Chapel. Two or three blocks to The Plaza and all the shopping, restaurants and bars you can handle. All within walking distance. Everyone recommended The Shed for Mexican food. The prices are right, but I wasn't overly impressed, the wife is a chef, so eating out is hard to do, but generally, I like good quality for a great price. We also tried Tomasita's Mexican Restaurant on Guadalupe St and again, price is right, but not overly impressed. On our last day, eureka, we found The Plaza Cafe, on the plaza. Priced right, meaning $8-$15 per entree and excellente, fabulous food with generous portions, 2 thumbs up.

During our stay we did feel very special from the time we arrived. I would give this resort 4.5 stars.

OK, so it's not just that they are nice to our little dog. We've stayed there twice in the last year. Both times a wonderful experience. I recommend especially the rooms (with a shared patio) just off the swimming pool deck; they are quiet, very convenient to the parking area and the patio is swell for evening sitting (with or without a dog).

The staff gave us a room upgrade each time (slow season and our very polite, cute dog).

The most recent time (Jan '13) we also ate at the hotel's restaurant. Thoughtful modernization of Northern New Mexico traditional foods. The wine our server helped us pick has become a fav; our guests, at our home, think it's a winner too. My wife had hoped for the recipe for the pumpkin biscotti they were so good.

Our previous, summer, stay we very much enjoyed the pool area with its lawn for lounging. And you are only a short stroll from the plaza.

HINT: They ask you to walk your dog just across on Alameda St. where there are grassy areas for dog duties and pickup baggies. A nice idea.

We tried to get a last minute reservation at our favorite Santa Fe Hotel for the Memorial Day weekend. Unfortunately, we were shut out of the La Fonda but luckily remembered the Inn at Loretto in which we had stayed once before. It is the hotel second closest to the Historic Plaza and, as they say, location is everything. We called the night prior to our impulsive arrival and were told that there was a room available for both Friday and Sunday nights but no rooms available for Saturday evening. We were disappointed but for fun looked on the Hotel's website. There we found rooms available for both Friday and Saturday night. We got our rooms with a mere click on the iPad. We arrived at the hotel to find one staff member at the desk discussing at length the itemized bills of two patrons. We stood patiently waiting for those transactions to conclude for 10-15 minutes without out presence being acknowledged. At no time did another staff member appear behind the desk. When we were allowed to preregister we were informed that our room was not ready but he took our cell number and told us they would call when it was. We never got a call and when we returned a couple of hours later we found our room was ready but that the same staff member had not had a chance to call either us or several others he had promised to call...he was too busy...apparently he alone was running the point of first contact for the entire hotel. When we checked out in the early morning of Sunday, the one staff member at the desk was unable to print our bill...the printer was down...she'd have to mail us a copy of the bill. We're home in Florida and still haven't seen an account of our stay. The price of the hotel suggests a higher level of service than we received. Were it not for these minor snafus, it was a pretty good experience and we wouldn't hesitate to suggest the hotel to other visitors. Our stay was nice and the hotel is a beauty. The location is ideal.

Room Tip: My wife and I were in room 502...essentially on the roof of the hotel. We exited the interior of the...

Green Features: Very Happy that the Inn is environmentally proactive. It means a great deal to us that they manage to be aware of environmental concerns and seem to put them into practice diligently. Big thumbs up for their efforts in this regard and still manage to present a luxurious hotel experience.

had just booked for a week but enjoyed it enough to extend my stay.....even with a few glitches..the front desk did their best to make it up to us with credits and complimentary items....the main glitch was one elevator being out of order for too long a time however we were able to use the spa elevator which actually was even more convenient

food in luminaria some of the best we had eaten in santé fe....even the breakfasts were outstanding....very pleasant staff....the concierge crew absolutely bent over backwards to make our stay pleasant......lovely hotel....very centrally located so ease of access to activities , museums shopping etc was very good....the spa is unbelievable one of the best I have ever been in and the treatments were first rate..if I could have dragged my bed and sheets home with me I would have done so ....the most comfortable of any hotel I have ever stayed In in my lifeand really made for restful sleep. I did have one issue with the view of my room and was given several other options although I chose to stay there and was ultimately happy with that but was given a complimentary item that more than compensated for the issue...room was quiet and to wake up to the sound of a little bird on my balcony and the soft chimes of the cathedral bells was heaven.

Room Tip: make sure you are near a working elevator as if you have difficulty walking as I do that can be a pr...
