“Mostly great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

I have stayed at FMHS twice now and love it. The condos are beautiful and it's always been quiet and peaceful. This time there were also lots of interesting freebies in the bathroom - deodorant, cough drops, toothpaste, and chewing gum, in addition to the standard shampoo/conditioner/lotion.

One problem this time was that we woke up at 9:00 am to housekeeping knocking on the door to ask when we would be leaving!! I've never had that happen anywhere and wasn't thrilled about it, I must say. Perhaps the managers will see this and make a note.

The price per bedroom is unbeatable for Santa Fe and the quality is very good. You're not sacrificing quality by staying here at all. I highly recommend FMHS and plan to stay there every time I'm in Santa Fe.

A 5 Star review from a Senior Contributor of trip advisor is a real feather in our cap. I’m sorry about the 9:00 a.m. interruption, our energetic housekeeping team begins clearing rooms at 9:00 a.m., so that we can start getting our rooms ready for the early arrivals that are coming in. Thank you for your “high recommendation of FMHS”, and we also look forward to have you as our guest in the future.

These are really nice condos high on a hill overlooking downtown Santa Fe. Great location for watching sunrises and sunsets. Walkable distance to The Square. All condos are privately owned but rented out by on-site management team. Our two bedroom was very clean, fully equipped and very Southwestern. Many floor plans to choose from.

Helpful and friendly staff at check in. We were instantly upgraded to a 2br/2ba suite. The accomodations were beautifully appointed in a tasteful southwestern motif, spacious, very clean, and quiet. Full kitchen as well as the usual amenities; WiFi, cable television, etc. There was no daily maid service, which suited us very nicely. We enjoyed the fact that it is within reasonable walking distance to the plaza, so we didn't have to hop into the car whenever we wanted to go out. This will be our go-to accomodation on future visits to Santa Fe.

Room Tip: I honestly can't envision there bring anything but a good room at Fort Marcy Hotel Suites!

My friend and I enjoyed a 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath condo which had been updated recently...tile floors except for bedrooms, stone countertops, etc. Very comfortable, great view off of the upstairs deck. I have stayed here 2 or 3 times over the past 30 years. Always enjoyed my stay.

Room Tip: We chose an updated room even though it was a little more expensive, well worth it.

I was staying in Santa Fe for an entire month, so finding a great value was key. The one bedroom one bath had a queen sized comfortable bed. The condo was lovely and furnished in a rustic rough hewn way. Large wooden beams in the high ceiling, lots of tile and wood with a full kitchen with all the amennities. There was even a skylight in the center of the living room ceiling which was wonderful with the occasional rainstorm. It is located within walking distance of the plaza where all the action is. They offer a free shuttle sevice for hotel guests which came in handy for trips to the grocery store for supplies, or even when i was loaded down with packages from the fabulous shops. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. Offering suggestions for dining, museums, art galleries, festival events, etc. In particular I would like to thank the wonderful front desk managers, Nathan and Olivia. Also Jerry, one of the shuttle drivers and handyman around the hotel. They all went above and beyond the service I expected and helped make my stay a memorable one.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

We stayed here for three nights in a one bedroom standard unit. I picked Fort Marcy because I thought it would be good to have more room than a hotel, it sounded close to the historic area, and I thought all the units had an outdoor area. We were offered one unit next to the office but that was in an odd spot so we asked if there were any others available. We were offered Unit 11. It had a front "porch" with 3 chairs but it was right on the sidewalk with no view of the mountains. The closest thing was self-storage area. Parking was tight at night and you certainly couldn't walk to the Plaza from our unit. Some units are closer I guess. (We drove and had no trouble parking in the Plaza area.) The unit itself was clean but not new and the furnishings were nothing special. The laundry facilities are in the office and available only when the office is open, 8 am to 7pm, not very convenient. This was more expensive than a Hampton Inn and I don't think it was worth it.

Room Tip: You need to check on the location of the unit you are renting.

I’m sorry you were not pleased with your accommodations here at Fort Marcy. You are correct a Hampton Inn we are not. Fort Marcy offers a different type of hotel experience with full kitchen, living room, dining room, and separate bedroom. We are much more a Vacation home option, which most people find close enough to the square for a leisurely walk. As you noticed we are located next to the “cross of the martyr’s park” which overlooks the entire downtown area. I will admit even from this prestigious vantage point not all our units face the mountains as the full 360 degree view from the property can include any part of the entire Rio Grande Valley, or the secluded arroyo that runs right through the property. If you do stay with us again please know we do have a shuttle that is available to all our guest, free of charge, that can run you to the plaza everyday for shopping.

This place was NICE!! We stayed two nights with some friends. It was close to the downtown area. We stayed in Unit 15. This two bedroom 2 1/2 bath condo was decorated very nicely. The furnishing were very comfortable. The view from the balcony was great. The last morning we were greeted by a deer just outside the front door. Only downside is that there are a lot of stairs between the closest parking lot and the unit we stayed in. This was fine for us but could be difficult for those that are less physically fit.

“THIS PLACE WAS NICE!!” Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes we do have a lot of stairs here at Fort Marcy. So if stairs are a problem please let us know in advance so that we can block you into a room that requires no stairs to navigate. Thanks again for coming.
