“Fort Marcy Santa Fe, NM”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

We stayed in unit 3 and were extremely pleased. It was one of our most comfortable traveling accommodations by far. No comparison to a hotel when you are staying more than one night. We initially booked for 2 nights and extended our stay to 4 nights. We are two couples who travel once a year, and found this two bedroom condo delightfully decorated with more than ample space and convenient to downtown. Yes, it is uphill but worth the climb! Excellent management and desk personnel. Special recognition to Luis Bayardo, for his assistance during Zozobra celebration. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: Ask for a premium condo.

“YES, IT IS UPHILL BUT WORTH THE CLIMB!” Although I would not suggest running up the hill to the property from the plaza, a leisurely walk can be quite a pleasant experience. Thank you for taking my advice on that point. Our units are all unique and offer a wide variety of tastes and ambiance, were so pleased we found one to your liking. Remember to like us on Facebook to enjoy some amazing special offers in the future at All Seasons Resort Lodging.

We stayed in Unit 78 of this condo complex-style hotel. Although other reviews on Expedia bashed some of their units, ours was outstanding: granite countertops, stainless appliances, lovely amenties and decor -- really a perfect Labor Day weekend retreat, within walking distance of the downtown Plaza area (although an uphill climb, so be prepared!) Not a kiva unit but a free-standing small woodstove unit, it is still a true find. Front desk staff have limited hours but are awesome. The designer bathroom sink is not particularly user-friendly, and there was no iron and ironing room in our suite. But all in all, it was an outstanding unit for a great price. Quiet, too. Parking is on the street only. The kitchen is a fully-functioning kitchen in this unit, by the way. No pets!!

Room Tip: Be sure to book by calling the hotel and not through discount websites. If you want a newer condo w...

Let me say it again “Ft. Marcy Hotel: Worth every cent!” for the cost of a standard hotel room our condo suites can’t be beat for the price you pay for all the square feet you get. Add on top of that a fully stocked kitchen and “WALA” your very own vacation home in Santa Fe for less than the cost of a standard hotel room. Thanks for coming and we will see you again on your next trip to Santa Fe

Kids loved the large rooms after having spent previous week in a standard hotel. We had reserved a 2 bedroom unit and upon arrival were upgraded to a wonderful 3 bedroom unit. Would have stayed more than the 2 nights we did if we could.
Easy walk to Old Town and museums.

The property overall looks nice. As others have mentioned, Fort Marcy sits on the top of a hill which gives most units a nice view of the city, and is within a few blocks of the Plaza. Unfortunately, we were late to make a reservation and ended up with the last unit available---#11. This unit has a view of a wall from the front window and is in terrible need of updating. The kitchen appliances are ancient, the walls stark white, the furniture looks like it came from a garage sale. The bathroom light over the mirror did not work. The only trash can was in the bathroom---not even one in the kitchen! There was one chair on the front porch so two people could not sit outside (even though there is not anything to look at!). There is not daily maid service at this property. The only positive thing I can say is that the bed was comfortable. There are many stairs from the parking lot to the units and you do walk up hill to get back from the Plaza to the property---definitely do not recommend for anyone who has mobility issues.

I’m sorry your stay at Fort Marcy was not what you had hoped for. As you mentioned booking early can help us find you a room that could be closer to parking or with no stairs to climb. We are working to improve all our units at Fort Marcy and will take all your comments and endeavor to improve our overall product. Thank you for your honesty and observations.

We really enjoyed our third stay at Fort Marcy. This time, when we signed in, they gave us a choice of two condos, and then recommended one, which we loved - big, quiet, and comfortable. Parking in Lot D was a bit tight, but Saturday night we parked with some others in Lot E and that was fine. The people at the desk were helpful and friendly. We look forward to our NEXT visit!

“A GREAT PLACE TO STAY!” We really appreciate your positive comments. Parking can be a bit tight during our busy weekends but there really is plenty of parking around the entire complex. We’re always happy to help guest find a unit that meets their tastes and needs. Thank you for letting us show you around and finding a perfect condo for your stay here at Fort Marcy.

I booked a 3 bedroom condo at Fort Marcy, and even though I got an email confirmation, when we arrived a couple months later, they put us in a 2 bedroom unit. Maybe they were thinking we wouldn't notice since no one had bothered to email me in advance or even mention it when we got the keys. After calling the office at least three times, they ultimately gave us one free night since they didn't have any 3 bedroom units available. But, I had to get kind of testy and essentially negotiate for the discount (they first offered $50 off a night). That's not my style at all, and the whole thing soured our stay.

The unit was nicely decorated, though it was small (one room with two single beds and another with a double bed, and no sleeper sofa). It was lucky only three of the four of us who had originally planned to go to Santa Fe were able to make it. Also, one of the shower doors must have shattered before we arrived, and there was glass in the tub.

And, one other thing -- I signed up to follow All Seasons Resort Lodging (the property manager) on Facebook when I made my reservation because they said we would receive a Santa Fe dining coupon upon check-in. We didn't get the coupon - maybe you have to ask for it, but their FB posts reminded me I wanted to write this review.

Fort Marcy would be a fine place to stay for a family or group of friends looking for a little extra room, but I'm not feeling good about the place right now.

Our sincere apologies for you’re botched up stay here at Fort Marcy. Sometimes in this business we just drop the ball and in your case I take full responsibility for our mistakes. Prior to your arrival we did in fact over book our 3 bedroom units. With only 5 such units on site we are very careful to not let this happen, but once in a great while it does happen. As you mentioned we did break you up into two separate rooms to make sure you at least had the same sleeping arrangements or number of people to number of beds you originally requested. Unfortunately these were just not all in the same condo. I’m happy to report we did provide you a drastically discounted rate on the one room and gave you the second room for free due to our error. Our 2 bedroom units although not as spacious as the 3 bedroom units are still over a thousand square feet, far exceeding that of a normal hotel room. I understand your frustrations with us, but I would hope you can look past our mistake and give us another chance to wow you as we have so many other guests.
Sincerely Luis Bayardo C.R.D.E. G.M.

My wife and I always went to Santa Fe before kids and stayed at different hotels in town. No with a 5 year old and 2 year old we decided to try Fort Marcy since we could cook some meals indoors and have more room. 1) Fort Marcy was an AMAZING value. 2) Rooms were very clean and spacioous. 3) The location is awesome with awesome views. 4) Nathan at thr front desk was very helpfull. We had a very small problem with the bedroom window. They needed tp order a part, so he moved us to a bigger room. problem solved! He also answered any question we had. The place really felt like home and this is our place from now on. I would recommend this place to anyone, especially budget minded families. Cheers!
