“Clean- With all the Comforts of Home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2009

My husband and I stayed at Residence Inn for five nights during our stay at Santa Fe and it was a very pleasant experience. Our room was located next to one of the three hot tubs and we found it to be spacious and clean (a MUST for me, a picky a traveler). We had the King Suite- our room had a fireplace, a small living area, a small desk, a cute patio overlooking some trees, a fully equipped kitchen and internet connection for my laptop-all the comforts of home! The hotel amenities were a bonus: three hot tubs, (we used the one outside our room almost every night), a laundry room (we used it, the appliances were dated and the room was pretty small and grungy, but it got the job done), free daily breakfasts and weekday happy hours (food was pretty basic but it was nice to have something to munch on -on the way out in the mornings and on our way back in after our daily adventures!). Location was a quick five minute drive to downtown. The front desk and staff were not overly friendly, but always helpful and polite when you needed something. The Residence Inn is nothing fancy, but for our extended stay in Santa Fe, provided us with everything we needed and a little more. We got our money's worth!

This quiet setting was our base of operations for a great week of exploring! Our first trip to NM came as a result of searching the US for cheap flights. We found that flights to Albuquerque were a bargain, so off we went! The Residence Inn had a nice pool, free breakfast and a huge room with all the appliances of home! We were able to save left-overs from our dining out nights and had room for family members who were visiting. We will stay here again, not fancy, not luxurious but a great value and just a short trip from the hotel to downtown Santa Fe!

This is a great location not too far from old town about a 5 min drive. I like a quiet retreat and this fit the bill. The staff are friendly and helpful, a screen was missing from the window so I asked if it could be replace and the next day it was. They have a nice breakfast, well stocked and an evening managers reception with sodas and munchies. This is a good location to use as a base to visit points north such as Bandelier, Taos, and Chimayo. They only have one computer in the lobby for everyone to use to print out boarding passes or look up information. Thanks Shannon for all your help!

The Residence Inn Santa Fe was very nice, and I would really recommend it to families with children or teenagers. My party arrived at 10:00 pm and had to be buzzed into the front area by the reception desk. The gentleman who checked us in was very kind. I thought the room had a cute décor and was very clean (except for the carpet which is always dirty in hotels). Everything was in working order and it was incredibly convenient having a kitchenette.
Breakfast is served each morning, and some nights dinner is provided as well. I thought breakfast was great! There was a large variety of food, and everything was tasty. The pool area was nice and there is a court as well (don’t recall if it was for tennis or basketball). Free Wi-Fi is always great! I would defiantly stay there again!
The location really is awful. It's dark at night and it is a bit of a drive to locate resturants and shops. Also, it can be annoying if you have loud neighbors (which we didn't) as you can hear the upstairs occupants.

April 2009. We had the opportunity to spend several nights at the Residence Inn Santa Fe. The hotel is away from the plaza but a quick drive. It's a bit remote in terms of neighborhood and walking amenities. But it is in a quiet area of Santa Fe. Major roads are nearby. There is plenty of free parking in the parking in the property.
Check-in was very fast and we received a Penthouse room, we King in the loft, and a drop down Queen on the main floor. Our room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. The bed was ultra comfortable. Lighting in the room was very good. There was a problem with one closet. The work desk was large and the office-style chair functional and comfortable. Our room had a sofa and a comfortable arm chair.

Two regular TVs had a lot of cable channels as well as a wide selection of pay-per-view movies. I looked at some previews and costs per movie seemed to be between $12 and $15.
The bathroom was clean. Lighting was good, the towels were plentiful, and the shower worked well – immediate hot water with plenty of pressure. Bath amenities include shampoo, conditioner, and lotion.
The free buffet breakfast was good and there were several rooms to dine. There is complimentary internet access with a pc in the lobby. The breakfast buffet featured scrambled eggs, sausage, hot oatmeal, and all the other things you would expect on a breakfast buffet.

The hotel public areas were clean and well-kept, but could use an updating to the style of the rooms.

There are seveal fast food restaurants (McDonalds and Lots Burger) within a few minutes (by auto) of the hotel. We found Santa Fe a bit disappointing, more tourist trap than expected. A Globe Trekker Southwestern episode with host Justine Shapiro had some negative point of of view of Santa Fe as well. There are many Indian Casinos between Albuqurque and Taos, and we would return to play many resonable golf courses connected to the Casinos.

I will stay at the Residence Inn Santa Fe when in the area again. It is quiet and comfortable and a better value when compared to properties near the Plaza in Santa Fe.

I have stayed at many Marriotts over the years, and this place was disappointing. Closet doors would not open, we ened up having the maintance staff just removing one of the doors so we could access the closet. Outside of the place is in need of maintenance. The hot breaksfast is decent but not great. We ended up checking out after one night and moving to a nearby Courtyard. Most surprising was the fact that the checkout person at the front desk never bothered to ask why we were leaving after one night of a three night reserved stay. Guess they didn't care.

We chose the Residence Inn for a long week-end in Santa Fe and side road-trip to Taos. We found yet another squeaky clean and well managed Marriott in a quiet, neighborhood location. The desk staff, Shannon, was excellent helping us with our complicated check-in (our fault). David is an expert on all things Santa Fe. We appreciated the in-room kitchen. the morning breakfast and the internet connection. It can cost a lot more in the Plaza Area for atmosphere and a total Santa Fe experience. We didn't spend much time in the room and were happy to have the car at the door and the highways just around the corner. Like the previous review, be sure to get an upper floor to avoid the foot-thumping from above. We were told that the doubles and kings could be on either floor.
