“An amazing experience !!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I stayed here from May 30-June 2 for a conference held at the hotel. Everything is fabulous. It is located near the plaza and you can easily walk to the canyon road and the chapel. The rooms are beautiful and have that New Mexico character. The bed is very comfortable. The campus is beautifully done. The conference room were spacious and all arrangements were nicely done.
The food was very good.
The place is known to be haunted and we were told the intriguing stories pointing to it.i did not experience it personally, but it definitely adds to the charm.
All and all it was a fun visit!!

This beguiling hotel may have a few kinks to work out, such as the functionality of the new room thermostats, but I have great faith that the problem will be fixed in short order. After all, Santa Fe is the “City of Faith”. Sometimes, having a minor problem allows you to engage with the staff more than you normally would and at La Posada it was most enjoyable. From the wonderfully patient and kind front desk manager, Candace to the room service waiter Joshua, who not only delivered ice, but brought me a fan to make my very well appointed and beautiful room more comfortable. And finally, there is Maryann, the magnificent server at the restaurant Julia. After your first visit, she will not only remember your name, she will know all or your likes and habits. I will miss those wonderful breakfasts. Thank you all for a most enjoyable experience. And just to put the cherry on top, the hotel has the best location in Santa Fe. You can walk to The Plaza or to the galleries on Canyon Road and it is about twenty minutes from the airport.

Room Tip: I like the rooms nearest to the fitness center

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. It will be our pleasure to pass your compliments on to Candace, Joshua and Maryann and yes, those breakfasts are fabulous with the best Eggs Benedict on the planet featuring Wolferman's English Muffins!

Classy, private, comfortable rooms with a great restaurant, bar and patio. The spa is first class and the history of the main building is not only Victorian but "spooky". Located one bloc east of the historic Plaza.

We appreciate you taking the time to tell us how much you enjoyed your visit to La Posada de Santa Fe. We're just completing a $5 million renovation that included a careful refresh of the historic - and just a little spooky - Staab House. Julia, our resident ghost, has approved.

My husband and I spent one night here on our honeymoon. This was to be our 'high end' night. In the spa many lockers didn't work. Our room had a table outside but no chairs. The bathtub didn't drain. The window in the bathroom didn't close. Paint was peeling. Wall outlet didn't work so bedside lamp didn't work. Valet parking was chaotic and unorganized. Getting attention in the bar was difficult. This is a beautiful property but things didn't seem to run very smoothly. We will probably not return

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your visit. As you no doubt saw from signage placed in multiple locations in the spa, the spa is currently under renovation and new lockers are coming. In fact, they should be here this week. The entire property is finishing a $5 million renovation. We apologize for the issues you pointed out in your guest room and will share your comments with our staff. It would be helpful if you could let us know your room number by contacting me at ppoer@ardenthotels.com.

We (2 couples) decided to treat ourselves to 3 nights here whilst on our 2 week fly drive holiday. We were tempted by the claim of a luxurious hotel in a good location so we could explore Sante Fe. The location is excellent, just a few minutes walk from the centre, the room was very nice, the staff very friendly and helpful (mostly) and the grounds extensive with good facilities. We only had one breakfast there which was very good albeit a little pricy and the lovely bar was very welcome at the end of a day of sight seeing.

But our stay was marred by a series of simple things that should never have been:
There was no creamer for the coffee on arrival, both parties asked for it twice and still nothing happened. Only on the third time of asking were we given some. When I asked about this at check out I was told they already knew about this problem and we're trying to deal with it. How hard can it be?
The safe in one of the rooms was not working and we asked for it to be fixed – nothing happened.
One of the luggage racks was broken – does no one routinely check room facilities?
The cold water in the room came out hot, yes hot, and we had to run the tap for ages before it was cold but at least we could read a sign saying save water for the planet.
The lighting in the room was very dim; it may add to atmosphere but does not help when reading something.
You may think the room rate is reasonable but don't forget the room charges to be added, namely State tax, Occupancy tax, Resort Service fee, Miscellaneous Sales tax. I know taxes and fees were extra when we booked but it makes you think when these taxes come to an additional 36% of the room charge. We didn't experience that sort of extra anywhere else nor indeed in any other hotel in any other country we have visited, and we are very well traveled.
The door to the fridge cabinet fell off when opening.
The notepad was not refilled and remained empty during our stay.
Very limited space to hang our clothes – it seems style is more important than practicality.
On our last day the room make service did not arrive until 4.45pm just as we were returning from a day sightseeing. When we raised this we were told we should have requested an early room service. That would be our fault then!

None of the single problems is a major factor but added together and with the dismissive attitude of staff when raised suggests there is a significant lack of care, not something you would expect in a self proclaimed luxury hotel.

So our treat was good but spoilt by stunningly lackadaisical service and high extra charges. I'm sure the manager will come up with a corporate excuse for this but the point is they shouldn't have to in the first place. My other reviews for hotels on this trip have been very positive but this hotel manages to be good and hopeless at the same time but perhaps the word manage is the wrong one here.

We booked this inn for one night only, after a three day stay in ABQ. What a beautiful spot, the buildings are old and very pueblo, decorated nicely using the charm of the adobe structures.the room was very clean and well kept. the bed was super comfortable, and even with our room very near the pool it was quiet and private. The grounds are landscaped with some beautiful plants and trees. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Arriving late afternoon and hungry we were served a wonderful lunch in the bar. We will be staying at La Posada de Santa Fe on our next visit to Santa Fe!

This hotel is in a fantastic location plus they have a free shuttle/SUV that will get you around the downtown area. Nice perk. The overall look and feel of the hotel is lovely. The rooms themselves need sprucing up. Furniture is worse for the wear and why have a nice fireplace with only one comfortable chair in front of it? Service was hit or miss. I was treating my mom to a 70th birthday getaway and had paid for flowers, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in my package to be there on arrival to surprise her. When we checked in- Nada! Dissappointing. Called front desk and asked them to deliver while we grabbed dinner but came back to just the flowers. Had to call again. Folks in management...it's the little things that really give you a black eye. Five star resort should not make mistakes- twice! A few other similar service issues happened which just shows me that they need to spruce up service as much as the room interiors. However, the breakfast that was included was excellent, hearty and the service was friendly so it deserves 5 stars.
