I stayed at this property about 7 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. However our return trip this March has been less than stellar. Our hotel rooms show wear and tear and a lack of upkeep. The carpet is filthy.. cracked tiles in the bathroom floor, damaged furniture. The outdoor table and chairs are filthy as well, I called the front desk to have them cleaned so we could use them, but the chair cushions are still covered in bird feces. The staff seems to be hit or miss, some very pleasant others seem bothered to be here. The in room dining was quite good, albeit expensive. The Spa is pricey too but the staff and treatments received there were outstanding.

The Hotel is perfectly located with an excellent staff that were both friendly and accommodating. The rooms are nice, and clean. The bathroom was clean, well equipped with lots of great towels.

The grounds could have been a little cleaner - cigarette butts in plantings outside our window.

Still can't figure out the $30.00 a day extra "Resort" fee - a lot of money for extras that are often included at other Hotels.

Room Tip: Stay way from rooms that face a wall.

Thank you for your review. We apologize for the cigarette butts and have now got that resolved. Your resort fee covers a number of items including complimentary valet parking (probably a $25 value in Santa Fe), complimentary internet and daily newspaper, morning coffee and hot chocolate by the fireplace, Saturday and Sunday yoga classes, free postage within the United States, use of the spa and exercise room and shuttle service within five miles of the resort are all supported by the resort fee.

In addition to the beautiful room and amazing service Sam in The Stabb House restaurant/bar was outstanding and extremely professional. Even being new, Josh at the front desk was incredibly knowledgeable. I would also recommend Road Runner shuttle service out of the tiny Santa Fe airport, their drivers gave great local suggestions.

We stayed here during our first visit to Santa Fe and it has become our go to hotel when in the area. The staff is super friendly always willing to assist or make a recommendation. Every night there's a class on the resort and our favorite thus far has been the Make Your Own Margarita. The Spa is absolutely amazing! Well worth it. The grounds are well kept and the pool area is cozy. The location is perfect, only a few steps away from the main plaza. My only concern is that the rooms can be a hit or miss, we've stayed a total of 3 times thus far and two rooms were amazing, the other seemed to need a renovation. Also attended a wedding here and it was beautiful! Can't wait to return this year!

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room for some sun!!

Cute little resort close enough to downtown to experience the plaza, but far enough removed that you really feel like you can get away from it all. We loved the spa, and traveled back with our large labradoodle and were welcomed warmly. It is truly one of our "Can't Miss" destinations in New Mexico.

Room Tip: get a room close to the spa for easy access to the amazing amenities

Thank you so much for your kind review. As you know, we love dogs here at La Posada and dogs seem to love us as well. We think it's the beautiful grounds to explore. Our spa, which you enjoyed, is set to under go an extensive renovation starting mid-April with completion by mid-May. We hope you will come back soon to see the results.

La Posada is such a beautiful place close to the plaza but far enough away to be quaint and secluded in the city. Awesome casita type cabins, beautiful outdoor courtyard, fantastic pool and a neat old bar. The artwork displayed is ever changing and always intriguing to look at. Spendy but worth it if you're looking for something to romantic or even just relaxing as well

SPG PLATINUM FOR LIFE - had read other reviews that were not flattering and some glowing ones. If there were problems, we did not see a single one. This property is a fantastic experience. Rooms are in casitas and have a quaint, charming feel of a time back in history. You get the feeling that staff members consider their guests as family friends. Our room was lovely, fresh, clean and as comfy as our own home with all the luxury feel you expect from a Starwood Resort property. Every single staff person we encountered was warm, receptive, helpful, courteous and friendly. Ann, our waitress at Fuego, was superb. Hector is the valet king - so knowledgable and helpful. Housekeeping staff were efficient and friendly.

This is THE place to stay in Santa Fe - we could not have asked for a more wonderful experience - thank you everyone at LaPosada! See you again very soon.
