We had in the past stayed in what is now called the Pueblo part of the property and loved the coziness of the old adobe rooms and suites. They were not upscale, but the price back then reflected it and was reasonable for what you got. We couldn't get in there this time, so the lady (didn't get name) recommended La Tienda would give us the same ambience. Not so! What we got was obviously rehabbed in some nice ways, but it didn't even compare to the pictures you obviously choose to put on your website of the nicer rooms. Old, old gray painted wooden floor - very ugly. Big, old and drafty. The rugs on the floor were dirty and worn and had even more dirt underneath them which means cleaning is done around them, not underneath them. The pillows on the sofa and chairs could also use cleaning. The potted plants were half dead and just the original plastic pot stuck in a much larger pot. Just looked shabby. No heat in kitchen and bath areas which are very drafty, so have to use a space heater (thankfully provided) to warm up. Need new windows throughout unit. It was in the teens when we visited, so was very cold. The wooden blinds on the front windows (San Francisco street side) offer not much privacy ( I went outside and you can see in clearly when lights are on) as there are big gaps in how they hang on the windows. As there is not a separate bedroom, there is no privacy at all. Privacy drapes would be much better in this case if you can't hang the blinds flat. The bed's mattress, even though they told us was 4 months old, was not comfortable and sagged in the middle and the pillows were flat. The fireplace was okay, but the room is very large and the furniture doesn't sit close to it, so doesn't really give you that cozy feeling. Big flat panel TV was good. Breakfast is mediocre and nothing special. For $264 per night, I would expect more. Your other rooms look great in the pictures, but you mislead us on this one. Not worth the price. We should have kept our reservations at Inn on the Anasazi. Would probably be okay for a family with kids who wanted to cook some of their meals as this has a full kitchen (a bit shabby also, but large and fully equipped). Don't rent La Tienda #50 if you are looking for a romantic getaway and expecting a somewhat upscale accommodation. This unit does not deliver it.
