“Charming Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We love this hotel! I does have an old feel to it, but it is very charming. We stayed in the Ortiz room and enjoyed it. Love the fireplace! Would definitely stay here again. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we didn't have breakfast there, but the serve good cookies at check-in. I did see they charged for a glass of water, which I didn't understand why.

That was poor signage on our part as it is supposed to relate to the “bottled” water and of course there is no charge for tap water. Our apologies and thank you for bringing that to our attention.

We stayed in the George Handel room. The paint was peeling from the bathroom walls and ceiling. The tile floor in the bathroom was filthy with dirt in all the corners and crevices. The wood blinds in the sleeping and sitting area were broken and missing slats here and there. We came back to our room after 4pm hoping to rest and the housekeepers had not been in to clean yet. To top it off there was a second level over our room with creaky wood floors. We could hear every step made above us.

I have not stayed in a place this disgusting ever in Santa Fe.

The other reviews were so positive maybe there are parts of the property that are not so run down and filthy. I don't recommend taking a chance.

If we knew who you are, we would certainly make a full refund. This is definitely not our style/standard, but thank you for letting us know! With sincere apologies!

We were passing through Santa Fe and booked a last-minute room at Las Palomas via Hotel Tonight. The hotel is located on a side street and doesn't look like much from the outside: in fact, we almost drove right past it. However, once on the property the grounds are nicely landscaped and the layout is charming. The hotel is about a 5-10 minute walk from the Plaza area.

We stayed in deluxe studio. The room was large, with a bedroom, decent sized bathroom, and living room with a couch, chair, coffee table and tv. The bed and linens were decent, and the hotel staff quickly changed out the pillows to hypoallergenic ones upon request. We stayed on a really cold night, and the heat worked well. The only negatives to the hotel room were the bathroom sink design, which was not conducive to washing one's face without getting water everywhere, and the flooring, which was slanted and uneven, especially in the living area.

The "deluxe continental breakfast" was better than any hotel continental breakfast I have ever had. Besides the normal cold items, this hotel had a kitchen staff cooking waffles, omelets, and lattes to order. The same breakfast would probably have cost the two of us $20 at a restaurant, which made the room cost a really good value. Overall, we liked the hotel and would stay here again.

The inn is well situated for walking to many restaurants, the historic plaza, and many museums. The pueblo rooms were comfortable though in need of some upgrades. The radio and clock did not work. The suites would be much more appealing if there was comfortable outside seating. Great breakfast. All staff were friendly and helpful with very accurate recommendations.

Got caught by a snowstorm in the mountains and made a unexpected stop in the Santa Fe area. Was planning on a hotel on the edge of town when I ran into Las Palomas' website. Got a great 99 dollar rate, for this B and B and overall I was pleased with my stay. My room (#24), faced the street, had comfortable bed and clean bathroom. and a nice small fireplace. Nice ambiance. The staff... very helpful, had several questions regarding the area and they were quite friendly and very helpful. Location... within walking distance to the downtown restaurants and shops... I was pleased with the location. Several people have commented here on parking at Las Palomas, admittedly can be tricky if they are full, but park the car once and walk everywhere! Breakfast the next morning... an omlette made to order and probably one of the best I have had recently. Breakfast was very good.
Overall, I rate Las Palomas very good for value received. If you want a higher end $300 per night experience... there are a couple of hotels nearer the plaza downtown... but Las Palomas fit my needs.

My sisters and I rented a three bedroom, two bath condo which is part of the Las Palomas Inn. We were separated by one block from the main building, an easy walk for breakfast and other services offered by this wonderful hostelry. The staff, to a person, was extraordinarly helpful, whether it was transportation, dining or sightseeing that we asked of them. The Inn offers different accomodations to suit your needs and we found the condo excellent, with its full kitchen, fireplace, bathrooms small private yard and parking. The quiet offered by its position away from, but a short stroll to, the plaza was appreciated by us all.
