“Great place to stay in downtown Santa Fé.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2014

I stayed this summer (early August 2014) with my wife and our son for only one night. We really all enjoyed the place. We happened to get there by chance without any booking. We were lucky enough to have the last room of the day !!
We did not regret our stay and much appreciated the very large room, the pool and the breakfast in the morning.
Fewvery good things about this hotel are free parking and great location in Sante Fé, just 3 minutes walking distance from Plazza and other market / shop; you can not dream better place to stay.
I will come back definitely for a longer stay.
Enjoy !

Dear Cstormyweather,

Thank you for your kind review of the Inn.

We are so pleased to have been able to host your stay. As you experienced, we can be quite busy in summer. Although, so fortuitous you booked our last room!

It is great to know you were able to enjoy the pool, our convenient location and our complimentary breakfast buffet.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Numerous trips to Santa Fe allow me to try different locations to stay in the city. I chose the Inn of the Governors because of its location but I was disappointed. The room was small and lots of noise from the Inn kitchen nearby. The bathroom was very small with a toilet that was small by any standards. The sheets were rougher than any I can remember. The pillows were firm and lumpy. Access doors to the lobby were locked during the day that were only meant to be locked at night and frustrated many. The location was clean. The breakfast was good. We will not return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not related to the kitchen or lobby.

Stayed here for three nights in July. The hotel is a short walk to the Plaza and shops and restaurants. Our room was a good size with a king bed and fireplace. Breakfast was included each day and had a selection of hot food as well as cereal and fruit. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

I've stayed here twice. My rooms were charming and quiet. The service is very good and all the staff seem to go out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast is ample and delicious and there is a daily $15 credit in the restaurant/bar, and they offer tea or sherry and cookies at 4 pm. It is just a few blocks from downtown, and we were able to walk everywhere. The hotel staff did make one mistake about scheduling a taxi for our departure...we were forced to change our travel plans, but the hotel reimbursed us every extra penny that we had to spend for the new itinerary. I would definitely stay here again!

This was our first stay, and we were pleasantly surprised in many ways. The parking was very easy, and free. Our room was comfortable, and included a small refrigerator so we were able to chill our wine. They included some nice touches, like earplugs, in the room amenities. Housekeeping did a very good job during our 3 night stay.
The included breakfast was quite good, with several egg dishes; various breakfast meats; hash browns; cereals; fresh fruit; one type of yogurt; juices; and a variety of breads and pastries. Their coffee was good, but they also offered tea and cocoa.
We were given a nightly $15 credit at their restaurant, El Charro, which we used for our evening margaritas.
In the lobby, we were able to refill our water bottles with filtered water, which was quite convenient. All the hotel staff was pleasant and helpful. Would definitely consider staying at the hotel again in the future.

Short walk to the plaza, with corresponding lower rates than hotels closer to the plaza. Key perks are: free parking for hotel guests, good location, year-round heated pool, food credit at the attached restaurant/bar. I stayed there for a week on company business in a room block of 5 rooms total, we paid $185 each per night--be warned the taxes will bump that nightly rate up substantially. Families, business travelers, solo travelers all blended in seamlessly at the hotel. There's a daily sherry/cookies hour (4pm ish). If you're sensitive to street noise, be sure to request a room away from the street. Appeared to have OK handicap access throughout. Some parking is covered (there's underground and surface parking). Free wifi (everywhere I went on property), and adjoining rooms are available. AT&T cell phone service is a little spotty around the property.

Room Tip: I stayed in room 113 and heard a good deal of noise from Alameda street. Be sure to request a room A...

You couldn’t ask for a better location -- we walked to the Georgia O’Keefe museum, the cathedral, the plaza, Loretto Chapel, and the hundreds of shops and restaurants on the plaza and Old Town Santa Fe. The free breakfast buffet has something for everyone and is good. The room was very pleasant, quiet, and clean, and being on the far side on the first floor, had a nice little patio with a bistro table and chairs. Parking is tight but free. Del Charro, the restaurant located off the lobby, has good margaritas and decent chicken cesar salad in addition to other items. As a guest, one receives a $15 credit to the restaurant. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: Might be wise to ask for a room that does not face the parking lot.
