“Top drawer in gorgeous Santa Fe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2014

We returned to the Inn of the Governors in February - this probably was our fifth or sixth stay. It continues to be a place we look forward to every year.
We booked a superior king. It's spacious, comfortable and quiet. The wood burning fireplace is a great extra - adds to the ambience.
Breakfast, as usual, is substantial and has plenty of variety.
Location: a block and a half from the Plaza.
We highly recommend the Inn of the Governors - and will return again and again.

Room Tip: We have stayed in the traditional rooms - they're fine but have exterior corridors. The superior...

A friend told us that the Inn is really a motel. Strictly speaking he was right. It is a large, multi-building structure, furnished in a New Mexico style, if there is such a thing. Very good service and the extras (good buffet breakfast, afternoon sherry, bar voucher, etc.) were welcome. There is ample parking and Santa Fe's main square, the Plaza is two blocks away. The room was clean, the bathroom could be larger, but it was adequate. All-in-all the Inn is a good place to stay while visiting Santa Fe and the gorgeous surrounding countryside. The multi-room bar is an excellent place for a drink, light lunch or a quick snack.

This is a great hotel and a great value considering the historic city location. This is an older hotel although they have kept it completely updated. Breakfast and/or food vouchers are included if you book through the hotel web site. The also have a complementary Sherry and tea hour in the afternoon. Many of the rooms have small fireplaces. Really comfortable and friendly. Also, there is a nice bar on site.

Room Tip: Choose a room with the small fireplace. It is bigger and only a few dollars more per night.

Dear smwar,

We genuinely appreciate your feedback regarding your November stay at the Inn.

It is wonderful to know you found us to be a great value, but also comfortable and friendly. We agree that our wood burning fireplace rooms are worth the extra nominal cost. The crackling of the pinon or pine wood really lends to the atmosphere.

Also, we are pleased you were able to enjoy our complimentary breakfast buffet and the $15 Del Charro food credit.

We hope host you again very soon!

It is really fun to encounter more then you expected. The service, restaurant, location and room was excellant. The parking is a little close but worked out for us. The food and service at the restaurant ensured that we will return.

Just spent 3 nights at the wonderful Inn of the Governors. The location is perfect walking distance to both the Plaza and Canyon Road. Rooms were comfortable and cozy and the buffet breakfast was outstanding. The Sherry and tea hour at 4:00 was a great way to relax from a day of sightseeing and meet fellow guests. Nice small pool was closed when we were there but looked good. Highly recommend!

Perfect location in walking distance to discover Santa Fe. Stayed in room 202 which was a great experience. Nice junior suite and quiet. Very welcoming and helping staff, reception as restaurant. Enjoyed the heated swimming every day. Best breakfast during my New Mexico trip. Not to forget the drinks offered in the afternoon, 4 - 5 pm, in the lobby area.

Very nice hotel walkable to the plaza. I stayed for a long weekend and enjoyed the breakfast each morning. Be careful the hashbrowns have a kick! I stayed in 106, not in the main building, my only cons are the heating/cooling system did not have a fan and the room would be stuffy and warm if you didn't open the window. The wifi had a poor signal with almost no connectivity if you are too far from the door and window.
