We continue to love Four Kachinas Inn because of the great location, terrific homemade (hot) breakfast and comfortable rooms with tasteful Southwestern decor. Innkeeper Walt know a lot about Native American art and advised us about rugs on this trip. It is always a joy to stay there; so much nicer that an impersonal hotel.

While visiting a friend in Albuquerque we decide it would be fun to take the train to Santa Fe and spend the night. There sare so many places to choose from but we were lucky to decide on The Four Kachinas Inn. Arrived aound noon and was promptly greeted by Wayne who showed us immediately to our room. We used the San Miguel room which had 2 big and comfy queen size beds. The room was funrnished very lovely. The bathroom is very spacious and we had a small courtyard outside our room. Wayne joined us at the separate breakfast area. It is decorated beautifully and filled with coffee and tea brewers, waters, sodas and juices and best of all delicious homemade cookies and biscotti. What a nice way to spend a late afternoon after sightseeing and shopping. Wayne had suggested both lunch and dinner restaurants and they were both a hit with us.
The next day he told us to hold onto our key and leave our suitcases so we could spend another day exploring in Sante Fe. Sure enough when we returned he had another jar filled with goodies for us whcih we happily emptied while we waited for our taxi to return to the train station.
Wayne is a great fella to talk with and share stories about travel. So if you find yourself in the Santa Fe area you will not be disappointed in the Four Kachinas Inn.

Staying at the Four Kachinas Inn in Santa Fe was a wonderful experience. My husband and I loved everything about it. It is a very friendly place, and we very much enjoyed every aspect of the Inn. It is beautifully appointed, and Mark was such a wonderful host -- as well as a terrific cook -- and painter! The Inn is in a great location, so we were able to walk to the galleries and museums. We very much look forward to a return trip to Santa Fe and another stay at Four Kachinas.

Four Kachinas Inn is a short walk from the main square in Santa Fe but is worlds away from the hustle and bustle. The rooms are gorgeous and you will enjoy the proprietors and their adorable little puppy dogs. They gave us great breakfasts and terrific recommendations for what to see and do. I would stay there again in a second.
There is no business center but they were very helpful with printing out maps, boarding passes, etc.

My wife and I stayed in the Zia room at Four Kachinas for five nights in October 2010.

First mention should go to Mark the Innkeeper for the excellent breakfasts he prepared each morning. Each day there were different hot food choices, fresh breads, multiple options for coffees, teas, juices, cereals, yogurts, etc. The breakfast room itself was open 24 hours and included fresh-baked snacks and drinks as well as an extensive library of materials to help plan day trips, choose restaurants, etc. Mark and the owner Walt offers lots of great advice and were happy to let us borrow a book during our day trips.

The location is easy to get to and from by car, just on the outer edge of the center of town, less than 100m down a quiet side street off Santa Fe's ring road (Paseo De Peralta). This was handy for the three day-trips we made to Chimayo/Taos, Los Alamos/Bandelier, and Ghost Ranch/Ojo Caliente. All of the destinations as well as the drives themselves were spectacular, regardless of the routes. If you arrive at the B&B after 6pm as we did, they will arrange to leave the keys for you.

I was surprised to see how high accommodation rates were all over Santa Fe, but Four Kachinas is certainly competitive. The room itself and bathroom were very nice, clean, and well appointed but very short on space (eg, there is a sliding door to the bathroom since there isnt enough room for a door to open either in or out). The king bed and the two chairs made for a tight fit. There is a small closet near the entrance but no dressers to store clothes so we had to use the space between the chairs for my suitcase, blocking the door to the "private patio" that was just two chairs in front of an adobe wall along the sidewalk on Webber Street. The space taken up by the very large TV stand at the foot of the bed might be better served by a short dresser with a flat screen tv on the wall above. We could have also done without one or even both of the chairs.

It's a 15-20 minute walk to most of the sites around the central plaza (eg, NM History Museum, Georgia O'Keefe Museum, Cathedral, etc.). The State Capitol and associated state government buildings serve as a sort of a barrier between the B&B and the town center but SF is very walkable and inside the Paseo De Peralta ring there is very little car traffic. We were a little winded even just walking around town on the first day since Santa Fe sits at 7000ft above sea level, so if you're not adjusted to the altitude, save anything strenuous for later in your visit.

We stayed at the Four Kachinas for four nights, and I would have been happy to stay much longer. Everything is beautifully done...the accommodations are attractive, and their breakfast was always a treat to look forward to. And there was a friendly atmosphere that I really enjoyed and have felt was lacking at some otherwise attractive B&B's that we have visited. The owners of this place know the secret of how to do it right.

We just returned from a wonderful weekend in Santa Fe at the Four Kachinas Inn. We stayed in the Digneo Room and were really impressed by the lovely decor, large bathroom and luxurious bed linens. The Inn is less than a 10 minute walk from the plaza and was a very nice base for exploring all that Santa Fe has to offer. The breakfast was delicious and sustained us for most of the day. The owners were very helpful with suggestions for what to do in Santa Fe and also helped direct us towards Bandelier National Monument (which I highly recommend). We had a fantastic trip and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to stay in Santa Fe.
