I found the inkeepers to be pleasant and helpful, and the kitchen staff accomodated my modest food requests. The breakfasts were delicious and the desserts at tea unique and interesting and delicious! The room was tastefully decorated and spacious.

My wife and I spent four days in March at this B & B. We have made four trips to Santa Fe and each time we have stayed at El Paradero. The current owners and staff are exceptional. Our first night we were lucky to take part in a cooking class at the B & B - it was one of the best experiences we have ever had in Santa Fe and we did not even have to leave our B & B!

Personally, I find El Paradero to be a very good value. The price of the rooms is average for similar accommodations in other high-tourist cities and that is not even considering the fabulous breakfast and afternoon tea. The walk to the square, Canyon Road, and the train station are all reasonable. I very much enjoyed the commons area in the early morning with my cup of coffee.

We are slowly making our way through all the rooms. This trip we stayed in Room 8 and we both agreed it was our favorite so far - I'd say it was 99.5 percent perfect. The bathroom is across the hall, but you gain more bathroom space than is available in other rooms. There is a sink in the room proper. The storage was sufficient enough that we felt moved-in and not living out of our suitcases.

It was .5 short of 100% because I wish there were more comfy chairs to relax by the fire and read a book or share a bottle of wine. If that is your thing then I would suggest Room 4.

El Paradero Bed and Breakfast Inn is fantastic. My husband and I prefer to stay in B&Bs and it is rare to find one as wonderful as this. They offer warm service, five star breakfasts (I believe they offer the BEST in fresh, homemade New Mexican cuisine!), helpful maps and tips, and cute, clean rooms. It's a stone's-throw from the plaza, and they have free parking (a plus!). B&Bs can be claustrophobic sometimes, but not this one. They have a few common areas if you feel like mingling, but the atmosphere is light and generally the other guests are polite (also a plus!). We hike a lot and El Paradero is a close drive to the Dale Ball Trails. I highly recommend staying here!

Room Tip: The rooms on the second floor are more private and spacious.

We reserved this inn because they would take a dog, but they charged us $50 for her and the room was over priced to start with. Not really that convenient - more than a ten minute walk to the plaza. The room was uninteresting and the bathroom was across the hall. The breakfast and breakfast staff were good but the register staff was a little spacy. Did not notice the charm...

Room Tip: Don't take #8 - bathroom across the hall.

We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay. Actually we charge $20 per night per dog, you had 2 dogs + tax which brings it close to the $50 you mention. There are in fact very few Inns that take dogs, and especially 2 dogs, but we love dogs so we include them! Yes the bathroom is a private bathroom across the hall for room #8, it's one of 2 rooms at the Inn ( #7 and #8.. the less expensive rooms) that have a separate private bathroom. All our individually decorated rooms are clearly shown on our website, please take a look and we think you'll find they are indeed interesting.
The majority of our guests (392 excellent reviews!) love the rooms and find it a very pleasant short walk to the plaza.
We do hope you find an Inn that better serves your needs on your next visit to Santa Fe.

El Paradero Bed and Breakfast Inn is "5 Star" in my book.

We stayed there for 4 nights and found the breakfasts to be superb. The 4:00 pm tea and desserts were great. The Inn Keeper and her manager were so helpful when we asked for directions and guidance. They know Santa Fe and the surrounding area.

The room decor is fun and in keeping with the local culture. The B&B has off-street parking, is within 10-15 minute walking distance to the Plaza and very close (2 minute walk) to many good restaurants. It is cozy and the cleanliness is satisfactory-to-good.

We would stay there without question on our next trip.

Room Tip: Rooms 2 or 7 are great.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights during the week. Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable room with own fireplace. Great breakfasts, afternoon tea and goodies. We were able to walk to all the places we wanted to go. Quiet neighborhood, good parking in rear of building. The colorfully painted and decorated rooms were lovely. And thrilled they use Fiesta ware dishes as that is exactly what we have in lots of the same colors. Very cool!

Room Tip: We stayed in room at the back of main building. Private bathroom in the room a real plus and easy ac...

Adorable old building renovated with beautiful Mexican ceramics. So much character. Welcoming staff, good breakfast and close to all the action in Santa Fe. What more could you ask??? If you're travelling and need to bring all your gear in to sort out I recommend the 2 rooms at the rear which are right next to the car park on ground floor. Easy!!
