“Our Favorite B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2005

Everytime my girlfriend and I travel to Santa Fe, we always stay at the El Farolito. We love Santa Fe, first of all, for its shopping, culture, and margaritas! It is a great place for a "girl trip" and a chance for us to catch up. El Farolito provides a great, comfortable, central location. We always take the Casita Peralta-- a lovely room with two queens-- and plenty of local artwork. This latest visit we saw that some comfortable chairs had been added. The innkeepers are excellent! Friendly without being fawning, they are very willing to share their knowledge of the area, and are also willing to listen to our experiences so that they can be better informed. The breakfasts are just perfect-- fresh fruit, freshly baked goodies, cereal, yogurt, and hot drinks. The final touch of service was when they arranged to have our boarding passes printed off for us, which is something only the big hotels are usually able to do. We had to go to their second property to collect, but it was a kind gesture on their part that added to our relaxation for the final day in Santa Fe. Yes! We will return!

This charming little Inn certainly made our first visit to New Mexico a memorable one! The accomodations were spectacular, the breakfast delicious and the staff was extremely knowledgeable of where to go and what to do. We would highly recommend El Farolito and will be sure to return on our next vist to Santa Fe.

This is a copy of a letter that we sent to our hosts at the El Farolito B and B
April 30, 2005

El Farolito Bed and Breakfast

Dear Walt and Wayne,

First, let us congratulate you on building a superb facility. From the moment that we arrived at the gate of El Farolito, to the seconds after entering Casita Garcia, we felt the warmth and special attractiveness of the accommodations.

We are also writing to commend you on the choice of Dana as the innkeeper. She was highly competent, thoughtful, friendly, and down to earth. These are qualities that are difficult to find in any one person. She’s also a fine chef and very cultured.

Ruth was also very gracious and kept our place in tip-top shape.

We‘ll recommend your place to all those traveling through the Santa Fe.

Have a great year.

Rich and Selena Lubell

Just returned from a 3 night stay - Mom, Dad and 3 older teen girls. Mom and Dad stayed in Casita Galisteo and kids in Casita Peralta. Clean, stylish, cozy accomodations. Woodburning kiva fireplaces added to the atmosphere. Dana and Ruth were both fountains of information about things to do, places to see and dining... Continental breakfast was way above average with granola, homemade breads and fresh fruit.

The common area also has a very cozy sunken sitting area bathed in classical music and early morning sunshine - the perfect place to sip java and read the inn-supplied daily newspapers. We have been to Santa Fe several times and this is our new favorite. By the way, Dana, the innkeeper, helped us dig through the day's trash to find my daughter's retainer, which was wrapped in tissue and inadvertantly tossed by housekeeping. And she did it with a smile!!

We shall return....
