“Excellent accomodations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

I stayed at this hotel for a week and thought it was excellent. I was in a two bedroom suite which was very tastefully decorated and everything in the rooms was clean and well maintained. The rooms looked out over the casino parking lot, but I was never awakened by noise - and I'm a very light sleeper. The casino is not glitzy at all on the outside, so extraneous light was not a problem. People planning a longterm stay should be aware that the kitchen does not include an oven. The room fee includes breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was way more than the average continental style. I was never around to try out the dinners. The facility includes a small fitness room and outdoor pool, though I can't comment more because I didn't use them. There is a room with two computers and a printer available, but the computers don't always communicate with the printer. If you're in the main building, there is free wifi in the guest rooms. Overall, the hotel is in very good shape, except that the elevator sometimes gets stuck. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful. Guests do need to be ready for a rather casual staffing of the front desk. You may need to call out to someone in the back room to let them know you're there. There are various sizes of safe deposit boxes available at that front desk, so you're valuables can be safe while you're out enjoying the beauty of New Mexico. The hotel is well situated geographically for seeing all the sites from Santa Fe northward (and probably south too, but I didn't go that way). All in all, I highly recommend this hotel.

My mom and I spent 5 nights here over Memorial Day weekend. My mother always finds something which could be done better wherever we go, but on the last night here, she said, "There is nothing here that I would change." From check-in to check-out the front desk was amazing. Most of the time Jodi was at the desk and she could not have been friendlier or more helpful. What a great representative for the hotel.

We stayed in the Casita Wii with a king bedroom, sitting room and kitchen for under $100/night. The room was comfortable, clean and convenient. The pool was relaxing and the breakfast was very good. Much nicer than other hotel breakfasts. Wednesday night we also had a free dinner of lasagna and salad. Dinner is served Monday to Thursday nights and the menu was posted on the refrigerator in our room.

We had several meals next door at the Buffalo Thunder Casino. Watch for deals at the different restaurants. The food was okay, not great, but cheap. We got a $20 Free Play card every day from the hotel which we used on the slots and cashed out with over $200 between us which was a nice bonus.

I wasn't sure how I would like the distance from Santa Fe, but everything was extremely convenient. The drive in to Santa Fe only took us an easy 10-15 minutes on a major highway. We were also closer to Taos and Bandelier Park which worked well for us.

This would definitely be the hotel to which we would return.

Waiting to check in. We arrived an hour early and told there were no rooms ready for us. We were hardly greeted with a hello. We then watched someone check in with the exact same room type as ours (twice so far)
But our room is still not available. And we have two tired kids sitting in the
Lobby with us yet we are watching others check in. Hope they can rectify their surly service before we leave.

I liked this hotel the first time so I came back. Was not disappointed. Since I was here, they completed a Hilton resort with casino next door - very tasteful hotel. The big advantage here is that you can choose to be around the casino resort, or stay away at the Homewood Suites. Clean fairly new facilities, decent hot breakfast, and helpful staff. Also VERY quiet and peaceful location at the back of the property. Just remember this is a 15 minute drive from Santa Fe. Watch out Marriott - on average, I think Hilton's Homewood Suites is a better experience for the guest than Marriott's aging Residence Inn chain.

The previous review says it all. We stayed here four nights in May. What I would add is the great value you get staying here. We paid $129 a night, for all these amenities. The rooms are nicely decorated with Native American Art, and the quality of the linens and such is great.
We did use our computer in the room, they have a land line to plug into and it was slow but usable.
Also there are no restaurants nearby but there are restaurants in the casino which is in walking distance. Staff here were friendly, and professional.

We ( 2 adults - no kids) stayed here for 4 nights towards the end of April. The Homewood Suites is right next to the larger Hilton Hotel/Casino.

If you're into gambling/casino action, then you'll be fine hanging out at the Hilton. This main building is not like a VEGAS casino. It's small, no bright lights, no noise, no chaos - the whole building blends into the land.

If you're NOT into the gambling/casino action, then you will ALSO be fine. Pick one of the 'Casitas' at the Homewood Suites - these are located at the East side of the property - away from the main casino/Hilton area. We were in the "Casita Poje' which was the most quiet residence - the farthest away from the main property. It's only a 5 min walk to the main Hilton/Casino from here.

It is very quiet and peaceful at night. You don't hear any noise from the main Hilton Hotel - and we're very light sleepers. Depending on the Casita you pick, you can get a lot of sunlight during the day.

Each Casita has only 2 floors and NO elevators. Each floor has 4 'suites'. Our suite came with a full kitchen, fridge, utensils, pots/pans etc - great for cooking dinner every night. There is also a couch, work table, small kitchenette table, king bed. Bathroom and shower worked great - amazing water pressure. There is no tub - just a standing shower.

The Casita rooms DO NOT have WIFI - but they do have ethernet connection. The connection had some problems - but this was due to a power outage in the area from a storm. Problem with NO WIFI is that multiple people cannot access internet at the same time.

You can go to the front office of the Homewood Suites - and can access WIFI in the business center there as well.

The location is great - because it's not in the center of town - and it only takes 15 mins to get into town. There are plenty of grocery stores nearby and convenience stores as well.

The staff is friendly and helpful/responsive. The Homewood Suites have complimentary dinner 4 nights a week - and complimentary breakfast 7 days a week. We did not have time to take advantage of these, but a lot of happy people where there.

There are restaurants in the main Hilton building and you can also drive into town in 15 mins to pick from other restaurants in the city.

There is also a golf course behind the property - though I'm not sure if this is part of the Hilton.

Staying at this Hotel (Homewood Suites) also gets you access to the gym and pool facilities in the main Hilton building.

I highly recommend this place (pick the Casitas) despite the fact that we had some issues with web access. We would stay here again.

Santa Fe is very dry - so make sure you bring a lot of water, chap stick, skin lotion etc.

Room Tip: Pick one of the Casitas to get a more quiet location.

Stayed there February 27th. We booked our suite through Hilton but our reservation was not correct and we were put In a single room. Jodie Bustos fixed us up with a ground floor suite and was very helpful in seeing to our needs. The room was fine except the clock was wrong and could not be set by the guest as it required tools to open. Issue was taken care of quickly by maintenance staff. Had nice snack of egg rolls and Chinese food in evening with adult beverages. Nice breakfast of scrambled eggs, scones, sausage, and various breads and cereal. Good location if you are heading north on 285 or 84 but not convenient to Santa Fe plaza or I25. Adjacent to a Hilton and a casino on the same property.
