“Delightful...avoid the Shed, come here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

Charming, classy atmosphere. Challenging but classical New Mexican dishes. I am an experienced mexican american chef, and cook California style food four times a week at least. New Mexican food is unique but paralell to traditional mexican food. It's delightful and I love it. La Casa Sena delivers with strong flavors, innovative dishes. Other places like the Shed cater to the taco's and nacho's crowd that want to order a margarita and pretend they know a thing about New Mexican food.

“Great Food and Wonderful Performances”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

Great food and superb performances of broadway show tunes by very talented waiters. Located right off the plaza, convenient to other sites. Depending on the weather you can choose indoor or outdoor dining. A lot of fun to have your waitress singing some of your favorite showtunes.

“A place to repeat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

I've been here 3-4 times -- in the summer you can (should!) sit outside under the trees with the streamers/strings of lights -- magical!

But this time was in the middle-fall and it's too cold for outside seating (plus, it POURED that night -- with thunderous claps of nearby-thunder that drew diners' gasps and applause). So, we sat inside.

I've eaten inside too in the past, and then found it quite noisy. This time was just fine -- the four of us were able to have an easy conversation, over a 2+ hour dinner. The service was very good (but not perfect -- the water dried up just before the 2-hour mark), and unhurried. (Aside: other reviews here speak of singing waiters, perhaps in a "cantina"? I've had no such experience, ever.)

Other reviews also spoke of the famous "LSC Chicken Enchiladas" -- I agree that these are very, very good.

Go; you'll be happy. If in the summer, you'll be delighted.

“Festive Friday Night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

We had a wonderful dinner at La Casa Sena tonight. We made reservations for 6:00 pm so we were seated before the music began at 6:00 pm. The pianist accompanied the wait staff through one Broadway show tune after another , with a few classic torch songs and Michael Buble' hits thrown in for diversity. The room was filled with families, couples, and groups of ladies enjoying their Friday night. We had a great meal, the Hangar steak and the Salmon that are the daily menu. The Hangar steak was prepared to perfection with fingerling potatoes, and the salmon was prepared with a spicy crust, and served on a bed of quinoa with diced veggies. Our wait staff was helpful in wine selection, prompt and magnificently talented. Where else in Santa Fe can you eat a great meal surrounded by live Broadway music? We'll be back!

“Mind your manners...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

I would love to talk about the food but we didn't have the chance to taste anything. We were told at the front desk, when they finally realized we were there though I said "excused me" several times, that they hadn't got any table for the two of us, even though I could see 3 free tables-and, if the three of them were reserved, I do think there are better ways to say it. They told us we can wait for more than one hour and a half or get dinner outside, very cold. They were very rude with us so we were actually very happy to spend our money in another place.
