Owner description: Ten Thousand Waves is inspired by the great Japanese mountain hot spring resorts. Ten minutes from downtown Santa Fe, but only minutes from the National Forest, there is nothing quite like this on the North American continent. Among pinons and junipers are beautiful outdoor hot tubs and spa suites, world-class bodywork & skin care, and the amazing izanami restaurant. For a lucky few, it is the closest lodging to the Santa Fe Ski area.

“Coolest spa EVER!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Location location location....5 min drive up road from Fort Marcy. Best spa ever. Great people that work there, and visit. So friendly, excellent services, serene setting in the middle of the mountains...nothing but you and nature, just incredible.

“I'd go there every week if I lived nearby”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

The massage talent at Waves is both broad and deep, so you are sure to get just the kind of treatment you want. The private baths are lovely. I like the Waterfall, which includes its own cold plunge and sauna. It's just a real treat to be outside in the mountains, absorbing the fresh cool air from a toasty hot tub.

“Hang out for the day to make it worth it.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

A friend and I splurged and bought a two item package each. They were nice but not thrilling for those prices. What we didn't know, is that you are free to relax, have lunch, and enjoy the truly beautiful spa setting for as long as you like before and after your massage, or treatment. We had booked other activities and weren't able to take advantage of this. I would recommend spending a long time there in order to make it worth the cost. Hang out in your fluffy robe and sip cucumber water. And, don't be intimidated at check out when they inform you the usual tip is 20%. Really? a $40+ tip for an hour's treatment? I don't think so. I gave them $15 and they were happy to have it.

“this place is a must for spa go-ers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

If you are accustomed to an exceptional massage while at home and want a place to rely on while on vacation, this is it. Absolutely a serene and lovely spot to spend an entire day. I could've spent the night it was so relaxing. THe outdoor pools to take a soothing bathing under the fresh air are worth the trip by themselves. I loved it

“Hot tub under the stars”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

We love this place and go whenever we can. Sparkling clean hot tubs in private, enclosed outdoor spaces where you can often gaze up at the stars at night as you soak. Massage therapists are terrific -- and we've had many many massages here. Terrific little shop full of wonderful gifts from Japan -- and the entire place is so pretty. We feel relaxed the minute we enter the front door and hear the water trickling down the water fall into a stream filled with Koi fish. Wonderful place.
