Owner description: Ten Thousand Waves is inspired by the great Japanese mountain hot spring resorts. Ten minutes from downtown Santa Fe, but only minutes from the National Forest, there is nothing quite like this on the North American continent. Among pinons and junipers are beautiful outdoor hot tubs and spa suites, world-class bodywork & skin care, and the amazing izanami restaurant. For a lucky few, it is the closest lodging to the Santa Fe Ski area.

“Total relaxation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

What a wonderful location/ambiance! Could be a little hard to find in the dark, but there is a big yellow sign advising you that the turn off is coming up so we had no trouble. We all got packages after hiking all day and it was so worth it. We spent 50 minutes in one of the wooden hot tubs, then we got the head and neck treatment, 50 minute massage and a salt scrub. All in all it was around 3 hours time. I have had several massages and this was definitely one of my top 3 best ones ever. I had never had a salt scrub before, but it was great! My skin was soooo smooth afterwards. And the oils from the head and neck treatment made my hair super soft. There is a long staircase up to the entry way, but if you don't want to/ can't climb stairs there is a drop off area and a ramp to go around it.

I recommend showing up at least 30-40 minutes early to enjoy the foot soak and relaxation room before your treatments.

“Best Relaxation Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

This was our second of what we hope to be many visits to Ten Thousand Waves. Best facility, massage, hot tubs, and spa experience of our lives. Love it so much that we buy the proprietary soaps and shampoos to keep a connection to the relaxing and mesmerizing atmosphere

“Wet and Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

What does a ocean dweller do when they find themselves in the high desert? This is it! Deep relaxation and serenity is yours to indulge in here at Ten Thousand Waves. I loved sitting at the new foot soak tubs by the koi pond, and waterfall drinking in the quiet, nature and healing of the water. From the moment you walk in you will be treated like a welcome guest, pampered with robes, slippers and plenty of towels. Enjoy!

Such a gorgeous setting in the mountains and one of the best stone massages ever. Go early and spend time in the hot tub and get a package massage. Wonderful.
