“Good tapas, great jazz”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013 via mobile

We went on a Friday night specifically for the music. The service was friendly and efficient. They have a nice selection of tapas. The price was reasonable. The music was fabulous. One of the guys who sat in for a few numbers had 30 years of experience playing in the US Army jazz band (wow!). This place is well worth a stop.

“El Meson well worth a stop in Santa Fe!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

Found this restaurant on TripAdvisory and the recommendation was 'spot-on'. Excellent (tapas) food and Spanish wines. It is easy to find right off the main square, and easy walk to shopping area. The service was attentive and the food was excellent. So many offerings that it was challenging to decide which ones you want to order. I've little experience with Spanish wines, but the Manager, Andrea Bozman was patient with us as we explored the correct wine to pair with the food. She also took the time to help educate us on the Spanish wines. Beyond wine, Andrea was informative beyond the restaurant in her guidance and suggestions on local hikes, shopping, site-seeing locations, etc. She and the staff were a pleasure during our dining experience.

“Music, tapas, friendly service, what more could you want?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013 via mobile

As with other reviewers, we are repeat customers at El Meson each time we find ourselves fortunate enough to be in Santa Fe, and repeat customers within our visit, changing between the restaurant (paella is great) and the bar (tapas, tapas, tapas). The quality and array of food is tantalizing. Sit in the bar area, try wines by the glass that you haven't tried before (the very knowledgeable servers will help with any questions), and munch on tapas while listening to local musicians. Doesn't get much better.

“Wonderful restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

We visited Santa Fe last week and went to El Meson twice, which is very unusual for us as we try to go to as many different restaurants as possible on trips. The first time, we went on Tuesday and sat at the bar as all the tables were full. The bartender, Andrea, was excellent and very helpful in recommending wines and tapas. We enjoyed the Tango Tuesdays dancing very much. She also told us about the Jazz group on Fridays and the special guest who was playing with them that coming Friday. We returned, this time for dinner, and sat up front thoroughly enjoying the food, the wine, and the jazz. We highly recommend this restaurant!
