“Top Notch Mexican Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2014

A fun spot for excellent Mexican food. You would expect Mexican food to be good in Santa Fe and you won't be disappointed. It's pretty noisy and raucous fueled by margaritas and beer. Not fancy. Sister restaurant to The Shed.

“Delicious Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

We dined at La Choza for lunch during the week and did not have to wait too long to be seated, which was great for the busy summer season.

The restaurant inside feels cramped and the main dining room is rather loud, but is festively painted and decorated so you truly know you're dining in Santa Fe. Our waiter was attentive and food was served promptly.

The food was delicious, served hot, in ample but not gigantic portions. We started with the Trio Appetizer so we could try the chips, salsa, guacamole and queso. Salsa and queso were spicy and tasty. The combination plate was a great way to try several items, and it did not disappoint. The food was full of flavor and very satisfying. The sopapillas were a bit dry and chewy but still had good flavor.

We would surely return to La Choza again when we're in the mood for good local New Mexican food.

“Friendly place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014 credit card Amex Card Member Review

This is a neighborhood type place that locals frequent. The inside is warm and friendly. We had a three way conversation with the couples on either side of us, which is something we never had done before. But it was great because we got a lot of advice on what we should see in the area. The food is very good. My wife had the Vegetable Quesadilla (without mushrooms) and I had the Blue Corn Burritos with Xmas (red and green chili). And the best part was that it was inexpensive.

“Very good as usual”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

We have had several wonderful meals at the restuarant and this was no exception. We had lunch on the day we were going to the Santa Fe Opera and simply enjoyed the food and environment. We have heard the restaurant is owned by the same individuals as The Shed which is in downtown Santa Fe. That restaurant, while also having excellent food, is one of the most popular tourist retaurants downtown. And it shows. This restaurant with the same standards of food is just as good but much more relaxing.

“Excellent food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

When we go up to Santa Fe from ABQ, we often stop for lunch or dinner at La Choza. We are never disappointed. It has a warm atmosphere inside and out on the patio and service is always friendly. Food is well prepared and if you order two items, you will be bringing some home for a midnight snack. We have eaten the burritos, tacos, rellenos and enchiladas. All are tops with delicious salsa. . Our one gripe is that they could throw in some chips. For expensive Santa Fe, the prices are very reasonable.
