The food is very good not refine , portions are huge. It is very busy make sure you have reservation and lots of patience to wait. Skip the chips is the only thing is not good or home made wait for your meal all worth it to be hungry for the feast.

“Authentic New Mexican”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

Although not as good as it was before the Luceros sold the operation, Maria's is still one of the true New Mexican food restaurants in Santa Fe. Red chile, blue corn chicken enchiladas were amazing, although the chile's heat might be on the hot side for those who like it mild.

I would give 5 stars, but the waitstaff on a busy Saturday at noon was less than impressive.

Maria's gourmet Tequila "sipping" bar remains a must see destination for visitors to Santa Fe, but leave in a taxi!

“Real New Mexican”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

This is the authentic thing. Also the largest selection of Margaritas anywhere I know of. My favorites: buritto grande, stuffed so papilla, and chile rellenos.

“Stuffed Sopapillia - Fantastic Lunch Special”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2014

Decided to go for lunch by myself and discovered a great lunch special at Maria's. These change daily but was fortunate enough to have a stuffed sopapillia on a Thursday afternoon. Friendly greeting and immediate seating by the hostess right in front of the glass partition where I could watch tortillas being made for the lunch crowd. Chips and salsa were brought right away (and are delicious) while I perused the menu. The stuffed sopapillia plate had refried beans and rice as well. Sopapillia was stuffed with ground meat and you had your choice of red or green chile. Chose the red was was terrific! The platter also came with a regular sopapillia. A lot of food at a very reasonable price. Service was attentive and my water glass was regularly filled. Great lunch spot!

“OH!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2014

We had a delicious meal at Maria's and look forward to returning. Portions are very large and delicious! Being later in the day, I ordered an appetizer for the meal and it was more than enough.
