“Two words: La Bomba!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

The "La Bomba" stuffed chicken breast is to die for. Get there early before they run out. Located in the back of a small strip mall downtown behind the Loretto Chapel... an easy walk from anywhere in downtown SF. If you want pretentious, Go to La Fonda. Rumor has it, this was started by the chef of the former "Old Mexican Cafe" which used to be on Cerillas Rd a LONG time ago.... Highly recommend.

“Sooo good!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2012

found this hidden gem on Trip Advisor. It is tucked away near the Loretto Chapel area. Definately worth finding! We had a "light" lunch off the appetizer menu that was HUGE! Yummy veggie quesadilla and blue corn taquitos!!! Would have loved to have come back for dinner!!

“Lackluster service, average fare, but really good flan”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2012

Tucked away in the corner of a low-rent mini-mall, our party was looking for a low-cost but decent Mexican restaurant. The location should have been a warning signal. What you see is what you get. There are no pretentions at Mucho Gusto. I got the distinct impression this was a restaurant on its way down from better times. The sangria and margaritas we ordered were served in small drinking glasses and while the margarita was reportedly pretty good, the sangria tasted watered-down. The entrees we ordered were underwhelming. The sundried tomatoes in my entry were so chewy I had to pick them out and set them aside. The mole with another's entry, however, was said to be very good. The only real winner of the meal was the flan. The waitperson swore it would be the best flan we would ever eat, and indeed, it was! With that one exception, Mucho Gusto didn't measure up in a state where Mexican food is king.
