Our chiles are out of this world and you won't regret ordering either - or both! Tomasita's is a distinctly Northern New Mexican restaurant. Our recipes have been handed down for generation and serve as a reminder of the melding of cultures that together once depended on the corn, chile, beans, and fruit of the area. “Lost it's Flavor!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

As a native Santa Fean who has eaten at Tomasitas since it started on Hickox St. many, many years ago, I was dismayed at what has happened to their green chili after eating there for the first time in about 9 months the other night.
I have always told any visitors that it was the best green chili in town because it was! But something terrible has happened to how they are preparing it that has changed it from the best to the most tasteless and bland green chili I have ever had. It tasted exactly as if they had opened a can of green chili and poured it over my enchilada. No flavor, no seasoning and no heat at all. Just yuuuck.
When we commented about it to our waiter he seemed surprised and said that all their green chili was made with a vegetarian recipe now. Does that preclude using fresh roasted or high quality green chili as a base and does it exempt the use of any seasonings like oregano and garlic to give it some flavor?
It was just plain awful and unless they change it back to their flavorful blend and advertise the change, they have lost this Santa Fean as a customer forever!

“Yummy Mexican Food at Great Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

Just returned from a weekend in Santa Fe. We were looking for a casual and fun Mexican restaurant. We found it in Tomasitas! The food was quite good and the pries very reasonable. We went on a Friday night and it was very crowded including the bar. I had a cheese enchilada and it was great. It was a great place to mingle with the locals and people watch. It is located in The Railyard among many art galleries and shops and other restaurants. Certainly a fun place to visit and eat with good parking and not too far from The Plaza.

“WOW has this place changed!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

We have been coming here for many years and it just gets more crowded all the time. Food is still good, prices great, but what a mob. We are going to move on to one of the other great food options in Santa Fe. Maria's, Pantry, Tecolote, Shed, Pink Adobe ect...

“Recommended by many”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

It was late Saturday afternoon when we decided to skip lunch and have an early dinner. Our first choice was The Shed but they are closed between 2:30-5:30. We remembered that other travellers we had met and some locals had all recommended Tomasita's. Although the restaurant was nearly full at 5:00, we were seated right away. Our server was very friendly and efficient. We ordered the vegetarian platter and chalupas. Both meals were flavourful, well prepared, and plentiful. The margaritas on the rocks were the best we've had and reasonably priced. We ordered one dessert, the chocolate madness cake. It was very good but rich so you need to be a true chocolate lover to appreciate this cake. Our total bill was $38 and we thought this was excellent value. The atmosphere at Tomasita's is busy and noisy, so don't expect a quiet, romantic dinner and you won't be disappointed.

“Awesomeness!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

Across from the Railyard this place is stellar. It was super busy when we went but we were seated quickly and the service was great throughout the meal. The menu had too many delicious looking options but I eventually settled on the chalupas and my husband had the chicken enchilada. We've had a lot of NM food since we've been here but this place stood out. The food was fresh and very tasty (love the fact that they use local ingredients and farm fresh eggs from Taos!). The portions were very large - with the exception of the guacamole - boo :( - and everything was really good. The sopaillas were super fresh and the green chili sauce - yum yum! Would definitely recommend and will make sure to come back the next time I'm in Santa Fe. Don't miss this great place!
