“A slice of heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2011

We just returned from the most magnificent weekend...thanks to everyone at Inn of the Five Graces. I've never been treated with such warmth and respect from hotel staff. They always have a smile in their voice from the moment I made reservations right up until checkout. They were always pleased to do anything for us without hesitation. The hotel is so charming and beautiful that it feels like home right when you arrive. Our room was the Birdsong Room and was so spacious and lovely. I really like that the gorgeous bathroom was quite a distance from the bedroom for privacy. The detailed mosiac tile work in the bathroom is stunning! It has a huge walk in shower! The living room was comfortable with a nice size tv (with Direct tv for our viewing pleasure) and a cd/iPod/iPhone player with beautiful cds available right there for lovely backround music. Believe it or not, the hotel DOES NOT charge for anything you use from the minibar......ok, how often do you see that?? They also don't encourage "tipping" during your stay which is a nice treat but you will find that at checkout, you will WANT to leave the staff a generous gratuity as they are all so wonderful! The bedroom was lovely with a small private patio. My only minor complaint is that the bed (which is so comfortably cozy) is a little large for the room. The person sleeping against the far wall has a tough time maneuvering out of the bed b/c it's right up against the wall. Perhaps a smaller bed? Just a thought.
There is a wonderful community patio just outside the room for quiet reading or just napping. The morning breakfast (which is complimentary) was fantastic. The meals were delicious (really anything you want....) and you can either sit inside or outside in a lovely courtyard with a fountain on beautiful mosaic tables. Right next door is a restaurant (Pink Adobe) if you get hungry (or thirsty) and don't want to stray too far. The Seret family really made sure they created the most heavenly environment for any traveler. I wanted to adopt every staff member I met there. It really did feel like home. I have to say there were a couple moments when i wished there was a small pool though. The weather was wonderfully warm and I imagined taking a quick dip but when the most delicious chocolate covered strawberries showed up at my room, I completely forgot about a pool................... I will be back "in your good graces" again. Thank you for the best weekend !!!

Room Tip: Scheherazade for a smaller cozier room

The Inn of the Five Graces is simply “over the top” in the level of thought that has gone into every aspect of the facility and into everything operationally that might make a guest comfortable. For three nights we stayed in “Scheherazade,” from the ballet of the same name, and my wife was relieved that she wasn’t beheaded in the morning! [Check the internet]. Since other reviews accurately portray of experience of staying at this fine establishment, they need not be repeated, but I might add that the proximity to Canyon Road is a plus for gallery-goers, and that although the place is costly, it offers commensurate ambience and service. We look forward to returning.

Dear Rick12346, I am so pleased to hear you enjoyed Scheherazade and the amount of detail that went into that space. Every suite and room at our Inn has a unique layout and personality, because of its history. One of the most enjoyable parts of creating our Inn, was creating each room according to its individuality. We have taken our time over the years and really let each room talk to us, so the details came naturally. Thank you for the tip, letting guests know to call ahead regarding individual preferences. We are here to match those preferences with the individual traits of our rooms. Perhaps you will seek to enjoy another room on your next visit, to which we look forward.
All the best,
The Seret Family

This place is like your own personal home in Santa Fe. We won't stay anywhere else. Our "home" was the Sandlewood, our own personal court yard with locked gate, great tub to soak in with the bath salts. Great rain and hand held shower. Stocked refrigerator that doesn't cost extra. Fast free breakfast every morning. Great staff. Coffee maker, electric hot water heater for tea, microwave.

Dear Schroeder65, Thank you very much for your kind words about your Five Graces experience. We believe that the best trips away from home, should feel like home. Believe it or not, the Sandalwood suite is the oldest suite in our collection. It was part of a family’s compound that dated back to the 1600’s. When we renovated the suite, we wanted to keep its heritage alive with inspiring feedback from relatives of the original family. It is a true remnant of the old west and Santa Fe, offering an authentic experience with our luxurious touches. Rosa, our breakfast chef, will be delighted to know you found our breakfast service good and quick. We are proud to include our breakfast, along with all the other amenities as part of the guest stay. It is our hope that once you are here, you will feel well taken care of and is why we believe The Five Graces is a special and inclusive experience. We hope to see you again in the future.
Blessings,
The Seret Family

The Five Graces in is almost indescribable...the front desk people are amazing. Kandice, Forrest and Fred were all so helpful and did everything in thier power to ensure a great stay! The housekeeper was attentive and always came while we were out so we could return to a room with tranqil music playing, cookies waiting on our bed tables and dreamcatchers on the pillows made my the Natives in the area!
The linens and textiles were out of this world. Everything you want to do in the square is in walking distance.
You will not regret spending the money to stay at what we consider one of the most unique and wonderful inns in the world. Thank you every one at Five Graces! You are awesome!

Dear PhoenixMap55, Thank you for your wonderful praises of your stay at The Inn of the Five Graces. We are very fortunate with the staff that makes up our family and I am so happy you found them helpful and “amazing.” We are quite proud to be part of the hotel and of course, making your experience great!
When the Serets first discovered this historic block and brought their textiles and furnishings from around the world into the guest rooms, they paid extra attention to the local traditions of architecture and design. It has been a worldly integration, which we are so delighted to know you enjoyed.
The dreamcatchers are in fact a true New Mexican tradition, with a wonderful story. They are meant to entangle any bad dreams you may have and only allow the good thoughts to pass through. We do what we can to offer a peaceful sleep and hope you have found only good dreams since you have left us. Best Wishes!
Blessings,
The Seret Family

We have traveled andvstayed in some of the best reviewed hotels and inns and I have never felt inspired enough to take the time and write a review. Don't get me wrong, some of the places we have stayed were outstanding. This one just blew the rest away. They were so detail oriented from the service, (Candice & Forrest), to the decor to the outstanding breakfast. You know how sometimes in life we get to a point where we might take beauty for granted? I'm not only talking about the kind of beauty we see with our eyes. I'm talking about the deep soul kind of beauty. After spending two nights here, I'll think twice before dismissing my surroundings again. We wandered over to the owners store this morning before we left just to stretch our legs. A true extension of the Inn. We are having a custom made table done there. For as long as I live, every time I gather around my new table, I'll give thanks to Ira and his staff for reminding me to remember that no matter how much we all have in this life, it's always enough!

The amount of detail and thought that has gone into this property is absolutely mind-boggling. The rooms are very comfortable and cozy in addition to being lovely. The staff is wonderful and are truly there to make the guests happy--they'll even run your bath and sprinkle rose petals around! Breakfast is on-site and delicious, and the location very central to all that Santa Fe has to offer. The owners have very interesting histories and help to make the experience complete--they treat everyone like honored guests in their home. The store they've got nearby (Seret) is worth a few hours of exploring--altho you could easily spend days there discovering incredible things. If I had to come up w/ one, my only criticism would be that of the mattress--it's got a huge featherbed top to it that is way too soft for my back (altho I know many people that prefer that). Aside from that, this hotel totally hits the mark!

Dear Joanie327,

Thank you for your wonderful review both of our property and our store...where all the fantasy begins. We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you also for bringing to our attention your experience with the feather bed mattress top. It brings up an excellent opportunity to let everyone know that we will gladly remove the feather bed tops for any of our guests upon request. We also offer hypo-allergenic down alternatives should that be an issue.

Blessings from The Seret Family and The Entire Staff

Occasionally, in our lives, we are delightfully surprised with an experience that far exceeds our expectaions. This is the case at The Inn Of The Five Graces. We arrived late and were greeted with a warm welcome and genuinely friendly staff who escorted us to our room. We were given a thorough introduction to the room's ammenities. The decor was breathtaking and not so much Southwest, as expected. With the exception of a cozy kiva fireplace that was ready to light, the remainder of our one bedroom suite conveyed a more Morrocan, Afghan, Pakistan decor. The exquisite bathroom mosaic was remarkable, artistic and painstakingly designed by Sylvia Seret, who with her husband, Ira and sons, own and run this unique destination. Each accommodation is highlighted by beautiful mosaic bathrooms and interior design, unique from the other. The many thoughtful touches in our charming home away from home were evident everywhere, from beautiful lighting fixtures, (including excellent lighting for reading both in the living-room and bedroom, ) to comfortable and beautiful interior designed furnishings, a complimentary and generously stocked mini-bar, private patio, lovely and beckoning breakfast dining with floor to ceiling windows and glass doors that looked out to a Southwestern designed patio. The breakfast was included in the room rate and the menu offered many selections of delicious options to please anyone's palate. The staff was very knowledgable about sights of interest in Santa Fe and environs, suggesting and making dining reservations and catering to all of our needs with thoughtful attention. The Seret Family also own a wonderful store near-by, "Seret and Sons," with an impressive inventory of furniture, carpets, antique doors, beautiful carved wood accents to enhance ones' home and a staff that is very knowledgable, creative and helpful. The Inn's website is the best, most painstakingly designed that I have encountered. Perusing their website is not only well worth your time, but, it is a virtual presentation and insight into the exceptional artistic and creative endeavor that one will see, first hand, during their stay. There is so much more to share, but, I want to leave a few surprises to greet future guests at this: "Eighth Wonder Of The World!!!"
