“Great Location and Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

Just ended a three-night stay and agree with many other posters that this is a great find in Santa Fe. Old Santa Fe Inn is a completely renovated motel near the heart of Santa Fe Plaza. With two teens, we were happy we booked the deluxe room (#41 upstairs, no elevator) with a separate living area and small kitchenette (sink, microwave, coffee maker, mini-fridge). We love to enjoy happy hour on our own and really appreciated the nice sized private rooftop balcony with table and 4 chairs beyond the double doors of our living room - we overlooked the Plaza area and mountains behind it, perfect for sunrise coffee or late afternoon wine.

The rooms were very comfortable and the kiva fireplace was a beautiful touch. The bedroom had its own TV. Everything was clean. Our son found the pull out sofa (it inflated!) to be one of the best he's slept on. Rooms were quiet - we heard absolutely no noise from any adjoining rooms. The only suggestions I'd make would be 1. more shelf space is needed in the bathroom (had to take toiletries back and forth from the bedroom desk), 2. extra blankets for those who might have different sleeping needs than the rest in the room, and 3. a set of wine glasses in the kitchenette. Also, if you're using the kitchenette area you'll need to bring your own paper plates/plastic utensils, paper towel/napkins, and dishwashing soap. We picked these up at a local grocery store for picnic lunches and happy hours on the balcony.

Service is really great. Check in was smooth and Matt at the front desk marked all the hot spots within walking distance on our map. Free Starbucks coffee, free cookies and chips and guacamole in the afternoon make a nice extra touch. Breakfast burrito bar (and waffles/standard items too) was included and very tasty from 7 to 9:30 am. Wifi is free and worked in most areas of our unit; better reception closer to the center of the complex. Free parking, which is a blessing in Santa Fe - what a mess to try to park in that area! Only a few easy blocks to the Plaza and all the central sights.

Overall, a great place to stay and worth the extra cost for the deluxe room with balcony if you actually spend any time in your room. We'll definitely be back!

Room Tip: Deluxe room 41 had a kitchenette (sink, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker), separate living room...

I would have to rate this Hotel 5*+. It was THE BEST experience we've had in a LONG time. The location to the Plaza couldn't have been better for the price. The staff was very polite and accommodating. Great free full breakfast. Cookies and chips and salsa were served daily for NO extra charge. Very clean rooms! We stayed in room #1. When we went in we were afraid there would be traffic noise, but we heard NOTHING during the night! I would HIGHLY recommend this place for a great trip to Santa Fe, NM. We will definitely book there on our next.......and next.......etc trips!!!

Room Tip: You could NOT go wrong with ANY room here. We did have some upstairs neighbors who walked rather hea...

We stayed here over the July 4th weekend and I was very pleased with the inn. You can't beat the proximity to the main town square. There are many good restaurants nearby. There is no extra fee to park your car. The rooms have a nice southwest feel-the bed was comfortable (I 'm very fussy about that). The free snacks and coffee in the afternoon will tide you over til dinner. I would go back.

The hotel was very nice. I booked because of the positive reviews from Trip Advisor, and was not disappointed! What really made this a standout was the knowledgeable staff. The front desk employees were "right-on" with their food recommendations. Thanks for a great stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in the mini-suite.

I read the Trip Advisor reviews and we booked three days in July.
But then I kept thinking about the fact that it was on a busy street, and there was pull-up parking, and first floor rooms (security issues???) and I almost cancelled the reservation.
The reviews kept me booked, and I am so glad we stayed here!
Other reviews mention the breakfast but it truly is the best hotel 'freebie' breakfast I've had.
Full hot breakfast, great quality, tasty, fresh food. No powdered eggs here! No ugly Danish that sat around for days... Really wonderful nut bread, toasted and melty. mmmm.
And did I mention Starbucks coffee/
And the beautiful, private outdoor patio?
Rooms were adequate and clean, with good wifi, fridge, sink, and kitchen 'counter' space. Down comforters, good pillows, good lighting ..
I'd come here again and stay longer.
Afternoon homemade guacamole and fresh salsa, chips and cookies are a wonderful added perk.
Don't hesitate. This place is really good.
The plaza and great restaurants are an easy walk, even at night.

Looking for a reasonably priced family style motel close to the town square? This is it. Only three easy walking blocks from the town square. Rooms are clean and spacious. Property is a little dated. Full breakfast buffet included. Free WiFi. Cookies and chips available for no extra charge at 4 PM daily. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable.

We travel to Santa Fe every year and this is my favorite hotel thus far. An older but completely refurbished 'motel' with all of the quaint charm I expect in Santa Fe. Easy to navigate 'from' by car to anywhere else in the area. I truly enjoyed being away from the activity around the Plaza but still within a .4 mile walk. The rooms were smaller than a larger chain hotel but nicely appointed and very clean. Although I would rarely stay in an outside door room in a larger city, this was a very safe location and I had no concerns. The front desk staff was very helpful and we enjoyed the daily breakfast buffet. This will definitely be a top choice for future stays.
