“The perfect place for us.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

For our first trip to Santa Fe we wanted to be able to talk to a person that knew the area. Susan was great! Our day trip to Tent Rocks would not have happened without her recommendation. It was very special. The breakfasts were another treat (very different for each of the 5 days). Gourmet food that was also healthy. The lodging is spacious. Many shops and the downtown are within walking distance. Her recommendation to go to the Museum of Indian Art and Culture first proved to be good advise.

We had a great stay, and the Owner, Susan, was really helpful and accommodating. We got lots of lovely 'extras' that we weren't expecting and that you don't get in most places. The breakfast was superb, and plenty of it! The casita is in a lovely location, right by Canyon Road and within walking distance of places to go for a drink or food if you don't want to drive. It is spacious and had plenty of room for us. It was really nice to be able to stay in and cook and have a place for someone to stay with the baby. A last minute booking worked out much better than we could have hoped for and we had a wonderful stay. I would definitely recommend it - for the location, the personal touches (lovely flowers, assistance, welcome, breakfast, daily housekeeping) and the service.

Susan was a sweetheart and made sure we felt at home by giving us a warm welcome and stocking our fridge with fresh fruits, homemade goodies and refreshing drinks. The place was situated next to Canyon Dr, home to a street of fancy galleries. We walked into town and it takes about 25 min. It is an easy and nice walk, but sidewalks are somewhat limited so if you walk on Canyon Dr there is more sidewalk/company ambling on the streets. We recommend going to the Tea House around the corner to get delicious Metropolis coffee from Chicago- they seem understaffed/slow but not in a rude way, but the ambiance is nice and food decent. We recommend Susan's place to people who want a peaceful getaway and don't mind not being directly in the downtown plaza. The kiva fireplace was a bonus and the seating is comfortable. The heater was a bit noisy but you get used to it. The beds were comfortable enough, pillows fine if you used the right combo, and she supplied us with all the toiletries we needed. We would stay again as she was very thoughtful and kind. Thanks Susan!

Very quiet location with lots of room in the suite and close to Canyon Road which is filled with galleries and some good restaurants. Susan was an excellent hostess who made amazing breakfasts every morning and was very helpful with trip planning.

This was our first visit to Dunshee's. We had been to Santa Fe several times before and were really tired of the usual down town scene. We decided too try a B&B for a change and we were so pleased and so happy we made that decision. We loved the location which was walking distance to Canyon Road. It felt very special to be up in the area of the winding roads and old houses. Susan was wonderful and the gourmet breakfast were a great way to start the day. We also loved Susan's dogs. They are amazing and came to greet us while we were at breakfast every day. The bedroom was cozy and we really enjoyed the fireplace in the evening. We hope to go back.

Great location to town with all its wonderful attractions and only twenty-five minutes away from the ski basin. The suite is actually like an apartment -- amazingly spacious with fresh flowers and art work and books and music -- a truly relaxing atmosphere. Even has a refrigerator and microwave. An exquisitely prepared breakfast greeted us in the mornings with fresh squeezed juice and premium coffee. Our hostess, Susan, is warm, friendly, well-travelled and is a long-time Santa Fe resident. She gave us a unique perspective on Santa Fe living. One of our favorite places we've ever stayed!

We stayed in the Casita for six nights, and loved the location, tucked away on a tiny street, but just around the corner from Canyon Road. Susan was warm and hospitable, and gave us a great list of restaurant recommenations. She was never intrusive but always happy to answer questions as they arose.

The Casita is spacious and comfortable. Staying there reminded me of staying with an old friend, somehow familiar and comforting. The kitchen is well outfitted, there were lots of towels, and it was wonderful having a living room as well as two bedrooms to spread out. We weren't able to use the outside areas because of freezing weather and snow, but they looked like the would be lovely in the warmer months.

The frig was filled with tasty breakfast treats when we arrived: granola, artisan bread, orange juice, coffee, milk and butter.. We really appreciated this, and the granola is homemade and delicious.

Thanks Susan for a wonderful home away from home!

Room Tip: The Casita has a full kitchen, so if you want meals in, it is perfect.
