With a rental car and family of 4, downtown Santa Fe in August would have cost a small fortune. The location of this hotel is waaaay down on Cerrillos Avenue, but worked well as we had great access to the highways for short trips to Las Vegas (NM) and Madrid. The shuttle was great for bringing us downtown and picking us up later. The room fit a family of 4 comfortably with a little living area where we were not all on top of one another. Nothing dated, very comfortable. Definitely would recommend as a quality value stay.

Located near one of the two major SF main traffic arteries, VERY clean, VERY accomodating & friendly, good pricing, constantly mopping front desk area during the snow days, rooms are large, l-shaped sofa with rollable foot support, Would revisit!!!!
Breakfast is light (continental for sure) but you can purchase additional cooked meal items at any time right in the breahfast area...
Unfortunately the elevator broke down two days in a row. I left on the second breakdown day, had to carry my luggage downstairs, a bummer for sure....
Views are limited, a tire shop across the street, and steam from thei laundry clouding our window...but sitting in a motel room is not my cup of tea anyway...

I like the Hyatt Place chain because it includes a sofa-bed so you can spread out. The Santa Fe unit is even more special because they have Queen beds (instead of doubles) so you can spread out more and will fit a family of 5 or 6 comfortably in one room.

In addition, they have windows that open. And microwaves in the lobby so you can get takeout, warm up food, indoor pool for the kids, and a shuttle to Santa Fe plaza and 2 blocks away from a nice Albertson's grocery store.

It also has the other standard Hyatt Place amenities: Free continental breakfast, free wifi, fitness center, meal service, cozy lobby, Portico toiletries and Aquafresh toothpaste, and free use of lobby computers.

It was a good base for our Santa Fe / Taos visit but there are a few definite cons:

1. Five minutes from I-25, but a little far from downtown Santa Fe and the Plaza (15-20 minutes drive). Located in the middle of busy road so not very touristy. You will need to drive everywhere.
2. Set back from the road a little so easy to miss (see photo).
3. All night gas station right in front so get a room in the back facing the mountain.
4. Alternated between oatmeal and biscuits for breakfast. So if you like one or the other every day -- you're out of luck.

Other than those small cons (which may or may not bother you) -- it was a very pleasant stay and met my expectations from the Hyatt Place chain.

A bit far from the Plaza, but a nice hotel for the money in Santa Fe. Being part of a national change, it lacks some of the Santa Fe charm found at many of the city's hotels and motels but it makes up for it by being very clean, with the typical free breakfast, and a free shuttle to the Plaza. The location is behind and down a hill from a gas station and a Discount Tire, but all in all its a nice place to stay on business. I will stay here again.
